📌 Last week, #ENISA Head of Sector for Market, Technology and Product Security Unit Razvan G. participated in #InvestigAid2025 Conference, organised by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) and the Romanian Agency for International Development (RoAid) in 📍 Bucharest. ⚡🛡️Europe’s energy and cybersecurity leaders unite to strengthen grid resilience 👉 Check out key highlights from today's E.DSO, EE-ISAC, European Network for Cyber Security (ENCS), and #ENISA 8th Cybersecurity Forum!   This year the high-level event addressed the continent’s evolving power grid security challenges and aimed to shed light on the rising cyber threats and new EU regulations driving urgent action to secure Europe’s electricity networks.   ENISA Head of Resilience of Critical Sectors Unit, Dimitra Liveri, alongside Charles Esser, Secretary General at E.DSO, Aurelio Blanquet, Secretary General at EE-ISAC, Anjos Nijk, Managing Director at ENCS welcomed the participants. In his remarks, Fabrice Comptour, Cyber Defence Coordinator at DG CONNECT emphasised that cybersecurity is not only a box to tick or a programme but a mindset or even a mission.    💡 🔌 Discussions centered on turning regulation into real-world protection and addressed security gaps in consumer-energy technologies that could disrupt power systems. Experts agreed that cybersecurity must be built in from design to deployment. 🗣️ Panels further explored how Europe can harmonise standards, boost information sharing, and strengthen coordination among operators, regulators, and suppliers, while calling for a common approach to risk management and response. 📱8 phishing and cyber scams you need to know about this #CybersecurityMonth Debating Europe’s #Voices4Choices report revealed young Europeans support AI in cybersecurity and recognise its potential for real-time threat detection. Yet they’re equally aware of the risks: ⚠️ The maturity of AI tools: In France, 55% trust AI for online safety, although they are aware of the risks. ⚠️ The potential misuse of AI for manipulation or disinformation: Poland (84%) and Germany (80%) call for stronger EU support. How can Europe balance the promise of AI with the need to make young people feel more secure online? 👉It starts with awareness: share knowledge, explain risks, and empower others to stay safe online. Together with Debating Europe, we’re helping to raise awareness about how our youngest generation can stay secure online this #CyberSecMonth. 🔔 First Peer Review under #NIS2 underway   The NIS2 peer review is a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening cybersecurity resilience across EU Member States through shared learning and the exchange of best practices. It fosters transparency, mutual trust, and continuous improvement, helping countries identify both strengths and opportunities in their national cybersecurity strategies.   👉 In the pilot NIS2 peer review, Cyprus acts as the learner peer, while Greece, Italy, and Luxembourg serve as reviewer peers. #ENISA and the European Commission participate as observers, ensuring coordination and support throughout the process.   📅 Following preparatory activities facilitated by ENISA, the first onsite workshop is held in Cyprus on 29–30 October, marking a key milestone in the pilot. The workshop will be followed by the preparation of a review report and the sharing of outcomes within the NIS Cooperation Group.   ℹ️ Peer reviews are essential mechanisms to create equivalent and reliable procedures and to build trust and mutual recognition.  Aside from the peer reviews foreseen in Article 19 of the NIS2 Directive, #CSIRTs peer review also take place in a process during which CSIRTs can evaluate each other based on described methodology within parameters of the ENISA CSIRT maturity assessment model. Under the Cybersecurity Act, peer reviews are also foreseen for cybersecurity certification where ENISA is also to participate in supporting peer reviews.   Find out more on #NIS2 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dtV2rSz8 Office of the Commissioner of Communications
