𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 🌿 Yesterday, we held a workshop titled “Assessment of conservation status, implementation of measures and establishment of monitoring to improve the management of target species and habitat types in the Medvednica Nature Park.” The workshop brought together experts from Oikon, Medvednica Nature Park, Croatian Forests, and the Public Institution for the Management of Natural Values of the City of Zagreb to connect knowledge and resources for better management and protection of Medvednica’s ecosystems, with a focus on enhancing nature’s resilience to climate change. Radionica je okupila stručnjake iz Oikona, JU Park prirode Medvednica, Hrvatskih šuma, te Javne ustanove Priroda Grada Zagreba, s ciljem povezivanja znanja i resursa za što kvalitetnije upravljanje i zaštitu ekosustava Medvednice te s naglaskom na otpornost prirode na klimatske promjene. 📣Pozivamo sve zainteresirane istraživače, znanstvenike, članove stručnih udruga i ostale da potpišu ovu peticiju s ciljem iskaza interesa za uključivanje Republike Hrvatske u Biodiversa+ partnerstvo Europske komisije, koje će omogućiti sudjelovanje u zajedničkim istraživačkim projektima. Biodiversa+ je ključno europsko partnerstvo za istraživanje i inovacije u području bioraznolikosti. Partnerstvo djeluje kao temeljni instrument Europske komisije za provedbu ciljeva EU Strategije o bioraznolikosti do 2030. i CBD Globalnog okvira za bioraznolikost iz Kunminga i Montreala. 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 🐻🦅🐟 Every year on October 4th, we are reminded of the vital role animals play in maintaining the balance of nature and ensuring human survival. They keep ecosystems alive by pollinating plants, purifying water and soil, and connecting many natural processes we often take for granted. At Oikon, we research, monitor, and protect numerous species and their habitats, from mammals and birds to amphibians and fish. For instance, through the 4Pethabeco- Ipa Adrion project, we are currently working on conserving and restoring natural habitats and improving coexistence between people and large carnivores. Our scientific research and field work support a better understanding of nature and promote development that respects life. 🐾🌳 / 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗷𝗲 𝗦𝘃𝗷𝗲𝘁𝘀𝗸𝗶 𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝘇𝗮š𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗲 ž𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗮! 🐻🦅🐟 Svake godine 4. listopada podsjeća nas koliko su životinje važne za ravnotežu prirode i opstanak čovjeka. One održavaju ekosustave živima: oprašuju biljke, čiste vodu i tlo te povezuju mnoge prirodne procese koje često uzimamo zdravo za gotovo. U Oikonu kroz svoje projekte istražujemo, pratimo i štitimo brojne vrste i njihova staništa, od sisavaca i ptica do vodozemaca i riba. Trenutačno, primjerice, kroz projekt #4PETHABECO, radimo na očuvanju i obnovi prirodnih staništa te poboljšanju suživota čovjeka i divljih zvijeri.
