  • Integration Without Rip-and-Replace: How to build a Safe City without replacing a single DVR. Specs and datasheets look great in presentations. But they don’t win projects. What matters is what happens in the field — when you’re dealing with old recorders, tight budgets, and people who don’t like change. In this case, every city already had something running. Different brands, different formats, zero compatibility. So instead of ripping everything out, the team connected what was already there. Each local system stayed as is, but linked upstream to a regional cloud. 👉 Operators kept their workflows. 👉 IT didn’t have to start from scratch. 👉 And for the first time, the region could see everything on one screen. It wasn’t fancy — it was practical. And that’s probably why it worked. Next post: How the architecture handled the political side of things. #SafeCity #SmartCity #PublicSafety #VideoSurveillance #CitySecurity #AxxonSoft #SecurityIntegration #TechForCities

  • When “Good Enough” Security Isn’t The Louvre robbery is a strange reminder that even the most famous institutions can make very ordinary mistakes. You’d think a place that protects the world’s art would have the world’s best security. Turns out, not really. Investigators are now checking the museum’s alarm systems. One expert put it bluntly — the Louvre “wasn’t built with an obsession over security.” An internal audit found that about 75% of the Richelieu wing wasn’t covered by video surveillance. In the Denon wing, where the burglars broke in, a third of the rooms didn’t have cameras at all. The refurbished gallery they targeted did, but by then, that didn’t matter much. What this shows is simple: CCTV doesn’t always stop a crime before it happens. But it does make things a lot harder for criminals — and a lot faster for responders. You get eyes where no guard can be, data when memory fails, and evidence when it counts. That’s the point. Museums are, in a way, vaults. They hold the identity of nations not just objects. And yet, they’re rarely treated with the same security discipline as banks or data centers. Maybe because the threat feels abstract… until it’s not. At AxxonSoft, we’ve seen both sides of this. In some museums we work with, response time dropped once intelligent video analytics and event-based alerts were put in place. In others, just having a unified monitoring center changed how staff reacted to the smallest anomaly. We’re putting together a Museum Security White Paper that collects these cases — what worked, what didn’t, and how museums can rethink their approach without turning galleries into fortresses. Because protecting art isn’t really about the past. It’s about who we are — and whether we take that seriously enough to keep it safe. #MuseumSecurity #AxxonSoft #VideoSurveillance #SecurityEngineering #CCTV #CulturalHeritage #CrimePrevention #AIAnalytics #SafeMuseums #PublicSafety

  • At the end of the day, it all comes down to usability and functionality. Now, operators at the Istanbul Financial Center have one screen for everything - cameras, fire alarms, access control, all in the same view. No juggling windows or guessing where an alert came from. Response times improved right away. And maintenance got simpler, since the health-monitoring tools catch issues before they grow. The nice thing is, the setup can keep growing. IFC plans to expand capacity by roughly 30% over the next five years. The architecture’s ready for it no rewiring or ripping out what’s already there. That part matters if you’ve ever had to maintain a long-term site. Projects like this only come together when the right people are involved. Credit goes to LİDER SİSTEM TEKNOLOJİLERİ A.Ş., the local integrator who made all the moving parts line up. If you’re dealing with a campus or city project where systems don’t talk to each other, there’s a path forward. This case just happens to show one of them. • Working in a correctional environment is never simple. Security teams have to keep an eye on dozens of areas at once: cells, corridors, yards -while trying to spot the one thing that could turn into an incident. Cameras help, but people can’t watch them all the time. That’s where AI analytics come in. In this video, thanks to our LATAM team, you’ll see several detection cases we’ve tested specifically for prisons and detention centers. The goal isn’t to replace staff — it’s to give them early warnings and better situational awareness. Some examples: - Sit-down detection, often linked to attempts at hiding or handling objects. - Firearms detection, for quick identification of threats. - Drug exchange detection, where two or more people interact in suspicious ways. - Hands-up recognition, helping staff respond faster during a confrontation. - Abandoned object detection, which can signal a hidden package or escape attempt. These analytics don’t make decisions; they highlight what might need human attention. Sometimes it’s nothing - a false alarm, someone just resting. But sometimes, it’s exactly the clue operators need to stop an incident before it grows. That’s the real point: using video not only to record what happened, but to understand what’s happening right now. #AxxonSoft #VideoAnalytics #PrisonSecurity #PublicSafety #CorrectionalFacilities #SecurityTechnology

  • Picking up from the last post regarding Istanbul Financial Center, after all the planning and coordination comes the hardest part: integration. At the Istanbul Financial Center, there were about 6,000 cameras from different brands (Hanwha, Pelco, Honeywell, Dahua). Add 90,000 fire sensors, plus several access control systems from Vanderbilt and Honeywell. Each with its own protocols, firmware quirks, and naming conventions. You can imagine the complexity. The goal wasn’t just to make them talk to each other. It was to make it feel like one system for operators. No switching tabs, no juggling windows just one clear view. When a fire alarm goes off — with Mavili equipment behind it — the linked cameras pop up instantly. Operators see what’s happening in real time, without guessing where the alert came from. Honestly, that’s the real win here. The hardware is mixed, but the experience is unified. We owe a lot of that to our main technology partner in Turkey, Mavili Elektronik. Their integration support made it possible to link fire alarms directly with video feeds — fast, reliable, and compliant with local safety standards. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes work most people never notice. But for the engineers who built it, that’s the point. • #AxxonSoft at Dell Technologies’s AI-Driven Evolution in Manila Last week, our APAC team joined #Dell Technologies in Manila for their event “AI-Driven Evolution: Shaping Smarter Cities & Enterprises for a Sustainable Future.” It was a good opportunity to connect with other Dell partners and talk about how intelligent video analytics can support smarter city projects. We also showed a few live demos at our booth, running on Dell’s high-performance infrastructure - simple setup, solid performance. The event was packed. Lots of people stopped by to ask about real-world use cases, which made for some great conversations. Big thanks to the Dell team for organizing such a well-run event and for the ongoing partnership. We’re looking forward to doing more together, especially on projects where AI and video technologies can really make cities safer and more efficient. #AxxonSoft #DellTechnologies #AI #SmartCities #VideoAnalytics #ArtificialIntelligence #SecurityTechnology #SafeCities #EdgeComputing #SurveillanceSolutions

  • Now available: AxxonSoft’s new Area Occupancy Detector The Area Occupancy Detector, introduced in DetectorPack 3.14.1, brings a new way to measure space usage in video analytics. Instead of detecting specific objects, it calculates how much of a defined area is occupied - giving a real-time occupancy percentage and triggering alerts when that number exceeds a set threshold. This approach helps monitor spaces that can quickly become cluttered or blocked. In Safe City projects, it can detect trash buildup around garbage bins. In warehousing and logistics, it helps identify when boxes or packaging start to fill up storage areas or aisles. It’s also useful for construction zones, driveways, and production sites - anywhere space control matters for safety and efficiency. Some key features: ·       Segmentation-based neural model ·       Adjustable object size filters to ignore irrelevant items ·       Occupancy threshold and event configuration ·       Optional periodic statistics (every 1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes) ·       Works in short intervals to balance accuracy and system load ·       Available in Axxon One This detector helps teams reduce clutter-related risks, improve safety compliance, and keep operations running smoothly. • We’re expanding our cooperation with Dell Technologies to help cities run video analytics at scale without surprises. The aim stays simple: clear sizing, testable HA, and an architecture you can operate day to day. This week we joined “Accelerating AI-Driven Business with Dell Technologies OEM” in Ho Chi Minh City, co-hosted with #Dell Technologies, NT&T JSC , and i-PRO. It was a working room, not a show - whiteboards, checklists, and a few “okay, let’s test that” moments. What we validated together -> Deterministic sizing on Dell. Right-size now, add cameras/analytics later—no redesign. -> Edge where it matters. Real-time analytics near the source reduced latency and bandwidth in the demos. -> HA you can actually verify. Failover/retention/recovery drills passed without drama (which is the point). -> Open by default. Worked cleanly with existing I-PRO and third-party devices - no forced rip-and-replace. -> Faster rollouts. Reference designs + local delivery (thanks NT&T) kept pilots moving. Not instant, but clearly faster. Who this helps Public safety, traffic, and critical infrastructure teams in Vietnam/APAC that need to: + Consolidate thousands of feeds without crushing storage. + Keep ops simple - one event view, clean evidence export, solid audit trails. + Start small at intersections or campuses and grow to city-wide control rooms. • Building the security architecture for Istanbul Financial Center. Once the decision was made, the job was to build something reliable from the ground up. We deployed #AxxonOneVMS together with our #PSIM platform to act as the central layer. Everything runs on a distributed setup, which means there’s no single point of failure. If one server goes down, the rest keep working. The load is shared across multiple monitoring centers, so control isn’t tied to a single room or team. That design gives the client flexibility and resilience at the same time. We also added server and device health checks - https://lnkd.in/gbwUcWFz. It’s not the kind of feature that gets attention in a sales demo, but it makes a real difference. Users see when a camera or connection is drifting before it fails completely. That gives them time to fix things in advance and avoid downtime. It’s simple on paper, but that’s what keeps the system running day to day. Full case you can find here https://lnkd.in/eJqt58az

  • Following our first look at the huge IFC project (https://lnkd.in/evVzWU34), let’s dig into the problems users wanted to fix. The Istanbul Financial Center is a brand-new development with multiple high-rise towers, each delivered by a different contractor. That meant different brands of #cameras, #firesystems, #accesscontrol, and #intercoms scattered across the site. They all worked locally, but nothing tied them together. Before #AxxonSoft, there wasn’t a single platform to manage or monitor the campus. Most of the buildings had standard IP cameras and NVRs. Good enough for basic recording, but they couldn’t scale and they didn’t offer any kind of intelligent monitoring. From the client’s point of view, that wasn’t sustainable. As the central management authority, their goal was clear: build one integrated infrastructure that covered video surveillance, fire detection, access control, and intercom. Everything under one roof. They wanted centralized monitoring, remote access from more than one control center, and a shift from passive video toward AI-based event detection and proactive threat monitoring. They also asked for health monitoring, mapping, and incident tracking - not as “nice-to-have” extras but as tools to make day-to-day operations easier and faster. So the challenge was big but straightforward: unify fragmented systems into a single, intelligent platform that could grow with the Financial Center and improve response times. That’s exactly the foundation AxxonSoft was brought in to build. https://lnkd.in/eJqt58az
