We were delighted to be invited to speak at the Skillnet MMC Accelerate event last week at Remagin Ireland by Etex in Cahir, Co. Tipperary where more than 100 attendees came through the facility to explore the future of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). It was inspiring to see such genuine enthusiasm for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the industry. Our own Jeff Stanford shared insights into some of the exciting MMC projects we’re currently delivering, and the vital role our MEP Design, Energy & Sustainability teams play in making these projects smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable. 📩 Get in touch: [email protected] | ☎️ +353 21 428 0476 Find out how our MEP Design, Energy & Sustainability teams can support your next Modern Methods of Construction project. #EDC #Engineers #ProgressiveEngineering #MEPDesign #Energy #Sustainability #MMC

There was a question during the Q&A at the Remagin Ireland by Etex | Skillnet MMC Accelerate - something along the lines of "What would you say the industry needs right now, in a word?" What has come to my mind, as I think of everyone I know seeking somewhere to live, is 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. It's easy to think of the roadblocks: • A skills shortage • Bottlenecks in the planning systems and zoning maps • A backlog of work • Risks to insurers and development finance Technical solutions are in progress to many of these technical problems. But it is 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 that carries us forward. There's a massive difference between being on the back foot in a defensive mode rather than an energetic advance towards a goal. • Young people passionate for trades • Graduate engineers and architects keen to see themselves as part of the solution to the housing crisis • Artisans and craftspeople bringing beauty to derelict and worn-down areas • Cross-collaboration and conversation that engenders hope Start with vision. Beautiful homes and communities. Thriving culture and flourishing families. Well-made structures with gardens and light and art and music and humanity. It’s been a busy and exciting few days on the road for our CEO, Declan Wallace, who spoke at the MMC Ireland event excellently hosted by Autodesk in their wonderful Dublin offices, followed the next day by the Skillnet MMC Accelerate Business support Event in Cahir, hosted by our good friends at Remagin Ireland by Etex. Both events were exceptionally well organised and well attended which is a real credit to Autodesk, Remagin, Skillnet, and MMC Ireland for creating spaces that encourage collaboration and innovation across the MMC and construction sectors. A big thank you to everyone involved for the warm welcome and engaging discussions. It is great to see so much momentum and shared purpose driving the industry forward.

A big thanks to the Remagin team for hosting our recent Skillnet MMC Accelerate Business Support Event on October 15. We were thrilled to collaborate with Remagin Ireland by Etex to welcome a diverse group of over 100 attendees to their Offsite Manufacturing Facility in Cahir Business Park, Cahir, Co. Tipperary. It was fantastic to reconnect with familiar faces and meet so many new ones! This event was truly unique, as attendees had the rare opportunity to witness the Remagin experts in action creating new LGS homes. The day began with a warm welcome and introduction from Alan Hore, who provided an overview of Skillnet MMC Accelerate. Ger Fahey followed with an insightful presentation on how Remagin operates, offering valuable perspectives on the technology behind their low-energy solutions. He highlighted the importance of the MMC industry uniting to advance offsite construction. Máirín McGrath spoke passionately about the vital role of partnerships and collaboration between industry and higher education providers. Órla G. gave more detail of the Skillnet MMC Accelerate initiative, including the platform https://lnkd.in/eTnsQVDJ and the Business Support Events. She explained how Skillnet MMC Accelerate is driving change and supporting innovation across the construction sector. Jeff Stanford presented an M&E Co-ordination case study of a development in Clonsilla involving EDC - Engineering Design Consultants ALTU Architects, ORS, Murphy Matson O'Sullivan Consulting Engineers Ltd. MCHUGH PROPERTIES LIMITED, TC Estimating Services Ltd, Monami Construction, Stephen Diamond Associates and Remagin for more efficient coordination in design, off-site manufacturing and onsite installation. John Hoctor from Tipperary Fire Rescue Service provided unique insight into the dwelling fires in framed construction. Declan Wallace discussed unlocking barriers to creating an ecosystem for more cost-effective MMC mid-rise construction. Darragh Ryan ended by sharing how Remagin maintains sustainability, from minimising waste and transport emissions to reduced snagging. He also spoke of the benefits of LGS with competitive pricing, cost certainty, speed and less dependency on trades and simplifying on site management processes. Following the presentations, there was an interactive Q&A and factory tour. A huge thanks to all our speakers, attendees, and the entire Remagin team.
