10 Years of Empowering women in tech ✨ This week, we're celebrating a massive milestone: 10 years of the Web Summit women in tech programme! To mark a decade of work to help build a more diverse and inclusive industry, 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐱 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 —from Vancouver to Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon to Dublin, London, and Doha 🌍 These events brought together over 100 incredible women from across the ecosystem: founders, investors, researchers, leaders, media, and big tech innovators. It was a true celebration of community, providing a much-needed space to: ✨ Learn from each other's experiences; ✨ Discuss the future of work and tech; ✨ Find new connections and work together to discover new and exciting opportunities. The week also marked the launch of Web Summit’s latest 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲. The results are encouraging: 81% of respondents say they feel empowered and capable of leading. Yet, there is still work to be done. Sexism and bias persist, and many women still struggle to balance family and career. Addressing this requires space for open and honest conversations. This is what Web Summit hopes to continue providing. Thank you to everyone who participated! Your commitment is what makes this community thrive. We will see you all at #WebSummit in November!
