  • 🦺 Construction Safety Week: 10 Million Hours Strong 🦺 This May, Winthrop teams across Europe proudly participated in Construction Safety Week, working in collaboration with our contractors and our clients. Our teams curated a jam-packed schedule of events, tailored for each site’s specific safety needs, with highlights including Mental Health & Wellbeing Sessions, Emergency Rescue Demonstrations, and Recognition Events 🥇 This year’s theme of ‘All in Together’ perfectly reflects how our teams operate every day – united, focused, and committed to safety. Safety is a non-negotiable for our organisation – in fact, it’s the foundations of everything we do. Our ability to uphold the highest level of safety standards wouldn’t be possible without the focus, dedication, and collaborative efforts of every single team member, both on-site and behind the scenes. We are also incredibly proud to share that for the first time ever; Winthrop Technologies has surpassed 10 million hours worked in a rolling 12-month period 🎉 Clocking 10 million hours is no small feat — and doing so while maintaining our industry-leading safety standards makes this achievement even more meaningful. The success of Construction Safety Week is a true testament to our people – the engagement from our team members and the collaboration of our contractors and clients were paramount in making this week so impactful. We truly are #AllinTogether

  • For International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the incredible women who are shaping the future of construction and engineering. At Winthrop Technologies, we have seen first-hand the positive impact of increasing diversity in our industry. While construction has historically been male dominated, the number of women in construction is steadily growing. But there is still work to be done. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, is a call to invest in a more diverse and inclusive industry where talent thrives, regardless of gender. • As the year ends, the team at Winthrop Technologies is reflecting on the importance of health, safety, and wellbeing—both in and out of the workplace. This time of year, can bring joy and celebration, but it’s also a period where distractions, stress, and fatigue can creep in, impacting our ability to stay safe and present. At Winthrop Technologies, we believe safety isn’t just a checklist—it’s a culture we nurture every day. Whether on-site, on the road, or in the office, our focus is on creating environments where everyone can thrive and enjoy the festive season with their loved ones. Supporting Mental and Physical Wellbeing In December, we’re running our 12 Days of Safety Campaign to reinforce good safety practices and keep the conversation alive during this busy period. But safety isn’t just about physical hazards; it’s about mental health too. This year, we hosted monthly on-site safety briefings as well as a thought-provoking talk on mental health to equip our team with tools for managing stress and building resilience. Additionally, our regular Coffee and Chat sessions with trained mental health first aiders create informal, supportive spaces where our people can connect and feel heard. A Collective Responsibility We know that safety and wellbeing are collective efforts. That’s why we encourage our team to: Stay Aware: Take time to double-check work environments and remain focused amidst the end-of-year hustle. Speak Up: Address potential hazards or concerns early to prevent incidents before they happen. Take Care: Rest and recharge. Self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s essential for staying safe and healthy. As we prepare to wrap up 2024, we’re reminded that the heart of everything we do is our people. By prioritising health and safety, we ensure that everyone at Winthrop Technologies can enjoy the holiday season, recharge for the year ahead, and continue building success together. To our extended network, we wish you a safe and joyful festive season. Let’s all continue to commit to making health and wellbeing a priority. #HealthAndSafety #MentalHealthAwareness #WellbeingAtWork #WinthropTechnologies

  • Winthrop wins Gold at the All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards.   Safety is at the core of everything we do at Winthrop. Our teams undergo regular safety development to ensure that they can consistently preform in the safest, most efficient way possible. We were awarded the Gold Award for Safety at last Friday’s event. Having received the silver award last year, it is great to be recognised for our continuous efforts of creating a culture of safe working across our business. “As with any business, there are risks, but in the construction industry, some of these risks can be classed as critical, and must be managed effectively. It’s important that we take action to ensure that our teams know, and live best practice when it comes to safety. Our continuous commitment in prioritising Safety is essential, and is fundamental to us getting our teams home safe, each day.” – Ivan Conway, EHS Director. We also received a Consistent High Achiever Award, which is awarded to companies who achieve a Distinction or above for five consecutive years. This shows the commitment of our teams to ensure that every person is working together to deliver a safe workplace

  • Our 2024 intake of graduates gathered in Winthrop Technologies HQ in Dublin for day one of the 2024 Graduate Programme. This year’s cohort is the largest since we began the Graduate Programme, and we are delighted to officially welcome our new colleagues to Winthrop. Participants come to us having graduated from various disciplines, from Finance to Building Information Modelling and Engineering. Since starting the programme they have been learning about areas essential for working in our industry, including an Introduction to Data Centres and Health & Safety. Participants were joined by our senior leadership team to learn about the operational and strategic direction of the company and visited one of our project sites to gain an understanding of the scale of a data centre build. There was also plenty of time for participants to get to know each other, and the Winthrop team through informal gatherings and team building events. Having completed their induction programme, participants have now taken up their new roles on eight sites across five countries in Europe.
