Compliance isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither are the people behind it. Scroll through, spot yourself (or your work BFF), and tag them. They deserve the spotlight and probably a coffee. ☕ Some wear hoodies, some wear suits, some run on green smoothies, others on little panic and five mugs of coffee. But hey! Whatever kind of compliance pro you are, with Sumsub, compliance feels a whole lot more fun. #Compliance #Compliancememe #KYC #KYB

Yesterday we participated in the Crypto Travel Rule and Virtual Assets Compliance Development Forum in Taipei, co-hosted by the Digital Asset Development Research Center and the FinTech Center of the Institute for Information Industry. The forum brought together Taiwan’s regulators, judicial representatives, and industry leaders to discuss implementation of the Travel Rule, FATF Recommendation 16, and upcoming compliance requirements for VASPs—marking another step in aligning APAC markets with global standards. Sumsub contributed technical insights on Travel Rule implementation and ecosystem interoperability, supporting the region’s efforts to enhance transparency, investor protection, and financial innovation. “Taiwan’s Travel Rule enforcement, the upcoming licensing regime, and anti-fraud laws are the three key pillars of the protection model that could inspire other markets in financial defense,” said Sung Hin Jason Chan , APAC Government Relations Lead at Sumsub. “Public-private collaboration is essential to building a resilient digital asset ecosystem.” By collaborating with regulators and industry stakeholders, Sumsub is shaping the future of digital trust across APAC and beyond. Big Win for our AI team: two peer-reviewed Sumsub Papers accepted to ICML workshops 🧠 After joining ICLR in Singapore earlier this year, our ML team is now at ICML 2025 in Vancouver—one of the three most prestigious machine learning conferences in the world. This time, we’re proud to share that two of our papers have been accepted to ICML workshops. Both tackle the evolving challenges of deepfake detection—one of the most urgent issues in today’s AI landscape. 🔍 The first, accepted to the DataWorld workshop, highlights the gap between lab results and real-world performance in deepfake detection. We propose a new evaluation pipeline that mirrors production conditions—and support the community with open-source code, a new dataset, and even a mini-game to test detection skills. 🤖 The second, accepted to the Reliable and Responsible Foundation Models workshop, explores how visual language models can act as zero-shot deepfake detectors, achieving strong results without any fine-tuning. We’re excited to contribute to such an important conversation—and to keep pushing the boundaries of responsible AI. 📄 Read the papers: https://lnkd.in/dQFMMpHs https://lnkd.in/dyy7pprG #ICML2025 #MachineLearning #DeepfakeDetection #AI #Sumsub

At a July 22 Federal Reserve conference in Washington, DC, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman issued a stark warning of increasingly complex AI-driven fraud targeting vulnerabilities in financial institutions. “I am very nervous that we have a significant impending fraud crisis,” Altman told attendees, adding that relying on voice print authentication for moving large amounts of money is “crazy”. He emphasized that AI-generated voices, and soon video #deepfakes, are becoming “indistinguishable from reality,” demonstrating the need for financial institutions to rapidly adopt stronger authentication tools. Altman also highlighted broader threats, from AI-led attacks on financial systems to the potential for bioweapon development—stressing the urgent need for stronger defenses. 🛡️ At Sumsub, we actively use AI to fight fraud, with powerful tools and proven expertise. Follow us to stay ahead of the threat.

The most dangerous digital criminals ever to have existed: some have stolen millions, while others have caused mass panic just for a little fun. This gallery is about smooth talkers: the ones who didn’t need to break into systems, because they knew how to break people. Social engineering was their weapon of choice. But not all hackers rely on charm. Some are math geniuses. Others exploit code, networks, or zero-days. In our latest YouTube video, we ranked the most impactful black hat hackers of all time—from teenage scammers to military-level threats.
