At Gentex Technologies Israel, learning never stops – and recently, the team had the pleasure of a deep-dive technical session led by Ittai Nir, our Structured Light R&D Manager. Ittai presented a comprehensive introduction to imaging systems and image sensors, highlighting the key factors that impact image quality, the common artifacts that arise in the process and their relevancy to computer vision.   From photons to pixels, he walked us through the entire signal chain, explaining the physical principles behind image acquisition, and how different sensor parameters influence both AI-driven analysis and human visual perception. It was fascinating to explore how certain enhancements serve machine vision, while others primarily support the human eye – with minimal computational value.
