Today, I had the opportunity to visit my alma mater Amity University, Noida Amity Institute of Social Sciences,Noida , where I completed both my Bachelor’s (Hons) and Master’s in Political Science. It was a heartwarming experience to reconnect with my professor Dr. Prashant R Chauhan , whose guidance has played a pivotal role in shaping my academic journey and personal growth. Revisiting the campus brought back countless memories of learning, growth, and the foundation that continues to support me in my current pursuit of an MSc in International Management at the University of Southampton. Grateful for the mentorship, knowledge, and values that will always remain with me. 🌟

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, I had the privilege of being part of a meaningful dialogue hosted by the CII Foundation at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, civil society and international experts to reaffirm our collective commitment to climate resilience and sustainable development. As a Social Work & Development Studies academic passionate about rural transformation, I was invited to conduct a Masterclass on Village Eco-Restoration, where I spoke about the importance of rural development and the urgent need for eco-restorative practices in our villages. I also had the opportunity to share the impactful work being undertaken by the Department of Social Work, Amity University, in collaboration with grassroots partners to promote sustainable ecological practices and community empowerment in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Grateful to CII Foundation for curating such a platform that encourages knowledge exchange and action on environmental stewardship. It was inspiring to engage with fellow panellists and participants who are driving change across sectors for a greener, more equitable future. A little late to post this. But as they say, better late than never! :) By now, I’m sure most of the students I met that day have already embarked on their professional journeys. But the energy and curiosity I witnessed during the research dissertation presentations at Amity University, Noida continue to stay with me. Last month, I had the privilege of serving as an External Evaluator for the final semester research dissertations of MSW and MA Development Studies students at the Amity Institute of Social Sciences,Noida. What struck me most was the passion and depth of inquiry these young researchers brought into the room. Sharing a couple: - One explored the lives of security guards in Noida, an often invisible but vital part of our urban infrastructure. - Another examined how music can influence learning outcomes. - One carried out a detailed market assessment and demand of tourism sector in a district in Bihar. … and many more. Genuinely, each project reflected curiosity, empathy, and critical thinking. I did my best to share constructive feedback and not just on how to strengthen their research designs, but also on how to shape their work into publishable contributions to the sector. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Prashant R Chauhan, Head of Department, and the entire team at Amity University for the invitation and warm welcome and of course a lovely lunch. Always a pleasure to engage with bright minds who will shape the future of development practice in India. On World Environment Day 2025, I had the opportunity to take part in a cleanliness drive along the Yamuna riverbank near Kalindi Kunj, aligning with this year’s theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Together with the enthusiastic students of the Changemakers Club, Bachelor of Social Work and dedicated faculty members from the Department of Social Work, Amity Institute of Social Sciences,Noida, Amity University, Noida, we took a meaningful step toward raising awareness about the urgent need to tackle plastic pollution. Students also created insightful and eye-catching posters to engage the local community on the harmful effects of plastic waste and the importance of recycling. This initiative was more than just a symbolic act, it was a contribution to SDG 13: Climate Action and a reminder that impactful change begins with small, consistent actions.
