“Psychosis is like fever. You need to understand why it’s happening and get to the root of it” When Anuradha experienced her first psychotic episode, she didn’t just have to face the symptoms, she also had to understand where is it stemming from and put in the work of navigating it while working a full time job. Her journey is one of resilience. Of learning to seek help, trusting the process, and finding stability through the right care. At Amaha, we believe stories like hers are a reminder: recovery isn’t linear, but it is possible. Watch her full story here:  https://lnkd.in/dKgBwFSA

Everything that we do at the Amaha Mental Health Hospital is guided by the law. The Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 ensures that from admission to therapy, your choices guide every step of your treatment and we uphold this principle in every interaction, every care plan, and every decision. Every client’s journey is deeply personal. As a therapist, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing courage in its quietest form. The moment someone decides to seek help, to speak their truth, to begin again. Each story is different, yet they all carry a thread of hope. It’s in the small steps, the honest conversations, the days when showing up itself is an act of strength. Here are the stories of two of my clients, Mrridu & Parag , who have shown remarkable resilience through their journey, reminding me that even in the most difficult times, the human spirit finds ways to heal and move forward. Through The Amaha Hope Collective, we are sharing such stories of struggle, courage, and recovery that remind us that hope can return, quietly and steadily. I am grateful to have witnessed this journey and the strength it took to get here. Maybe these stories will remind you that even when things feel heavy, hope always finds its way back. Informed consent is at the centre of how we deliver psychiatric care at Amaha Mental Health Hospital. When someone seeks inpatient support, we recognise that it can be an overwhelming time, often marked by uncertainty and vulnerability. That’s why every treatment decision involves the person at the centre of care, ensuring that they understand, participate in, and consent to the plan moving forward. This is not just a legal safeguard but a clinical and ethical commitment. We believe autonomy and trust are at the heart of recovery. #Amaha #MentalHealth #MentalHealthIndia #AmahaMentalHealthHospital #MentalHealthHospital

When we talk about taking care of our mental health, it shouldn't only be about managing our present mood or stress. Something that often gets overlooked is preserving cognitive strength over time. Our founder and CEO, Dr. Amit Malik, in an article for Outlook Money titled “Effective Ways to Maintain Brain Health And Combat Cognitive Decline” talks about how maintaining emotional and mental well-being early and consistently can protect cognitive functioning. The article highlights strategies like physical activity, mental stimulation, social connection, and emotional wellbeing as key to protecting our cognition. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dwH7xzvf At Amaha, we believe mental health and brain health are deeply intertwined and nurturing both is essential for lifelong resilience.
