CRY - Child Rights and You

As part of a special volunteering project with CRY - Child Rights and You, I had the opportunity to contribute to the impactful work of this pan-India NGO alongside Mrunalini K. and Treesha Lall (Alums from Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli). This experience offered us a valuable insider view into how a large-scale social organization functions and drives impact across diverse communities. It also helped us understand how evidence-backed strategies and innovative approaches can shape meaningful outcomes in the development sector. Through this project, we applied consulting-based research and analysis using methods like data analysis, primary interviews, and market mapping to identify key opportunities for CRY. We also used strategic frameworks such as the impact-effort matrix, journey mapping, and pain point analysis to strengthen our recommendations. We hope that sharing this experience encourages more MBA professionals and young leaders to explore such special project collaborations with CRY, where analytical, strategic, and business skills can directly contribute to real-world social impact. It’s a unique win–win opportunity for professionals looking to apply their management learning in meaningful ways, while supporting CRY’s mission of ensuring every child’s right to a happy, healthy, and creative childhood. To mark Global Handwashing Day, the CRY team in Baran, Rajasthan, came together with children to spread awareness about hygiene and good health. In a region where resources are limited, small steps like learning proper handwashing can go a long way in keeping children safe from illness and helping them stay in school. Over 90 children across five villages participated in fun activities like learning handwashing steps and creating motivational hygiene posters. At the end, they took a pledge to practice proper handwashing every day, before meals, after play, and more. Every girl has a dream and every dream can change the world. 💛 On International Girl Child Day, over 761 children across 3 schools in Luni block, Jodhpur, Rajasthan celebrated confidence, equality, and the limitless potential of girls. With support from CRY, the initiative inspired girls to believe in themselves and break barriers. 💬 At Senior Secondary Balika School, 450+ girls wrote about their dreams; from doctors and engineers to future Sarpanch, showing that every goal is achievable with education and self-belief. 🎨 At Government Senior Secondary School, 415 students expressed their thoughts on equality through posters and discussions, imagining a world where every child has an equal chance to shine. 🌺 At Shikarpura School, 166 students created Rangolis symbolizing freedom, confidence, and empowerment.
