About us
CypherLock is a nonprofit focused on cybersecurity and its adjacent domains. We work across industry, academic institutes, and local communities to support innovation, education, and practical skill development in digital security. Through technical competitions, hands-on workshops, and expert-led sessions, we help people take on real-world security challenges while building both technical depth and leadership ability. We also run student-led chapters at institutions across the country, creating hubs for learning, collaboration, and early-stage research. In recent years, CypherLock has moved away from ventures that don't align with our core mission including game development, blockchain and artificial intelligence. Today, we actively support and mentor initiatives that share our vision for a more secure digital future.

Funny story, I went to CRACCON, my first conference, and met a lot of amazing people. By the end of the event, I was about to go home, but then I called my friend Rounak premchandani, who was volunteering, and told him I was leaving. He said, “Don’t go yet, I want you to meet some amazing people.” So I went back and met more people. At that moment, thinking I was just going to chat with a few more folks, I saw Anant Inder Singh, a complete stranger at the time, sitting not far from me. I went over, and after a handshake, I got nervous. I completely forgot how to network. I said to him, “I’m bad at networking, I don’t know what to say next,” and we both laughed. After that, I ended up talking with a few “crazy” folks, Siddhant Tiwari, Atharva Barge, Anant Inder Singh, Himesh Fegade, and Mansi Monga. We kept talking until 8 PM since their train was at 9 PM, even though the conference had wrapped up at 4 PM. During our conversation, we first discussed my startup, Biscuit Security, and then their startup CypherLock. Suddenly, I told them that my startup wasn’t registered and that I was a bit confused about how to do it. So there we were, in the garden of the India International Centre (where CracCon25 was held), sitting on the floor in the dark, and they helped me register Biscuit Security under MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) right there. It was one of the craziest experiences of my life. Can you imagine complete strangers, whom I had met only three hours earlier, helping me register my startup? This just shows that conferences are really about meeting people, building connections, and sometimes even getting real work done together. #CracCon25 #StartupLife #BiscuitSecurity #Networking #Entrepreneurship #MSME #FoundersJourney #ConferenceStories #StartupRegistration #BuildingConnections #TechStartups #Collaboration #LearningByDoing #StartupCommunity

🚀 Arweave Day India (ADI) Tour – Chandigarh Edition 🌐🔥 On April 2nd, 2025, CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY came alive with the energy of decentralization and innovation as the Arweave Day India (ADI) Tour – Chandigarh Edition took center stage. The event was a vibrant celebration of the future of the decentralized internet, offering students and builders a unique opportunity to explore the possibilities of on-chain storage and compute which are now revolutionizing the web. The day kicked off with an insightful introduction to Arweave and AO’s powerful stack by our guest speaker Ankush Singh, Founder of BetterIDEa, diving deep into how decentralized storage and programmable compute are shaping the next generation of the web. Attendees gained hands-on understanding of how to get involved in buildathon and hackerhouse, explored the impact of permanent data storage, and discovered how Arweave’s permaweb opens the door to scalable, censorship-resistant applications. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with discussions, shared ideas, and forward-thinking energy. From passionate tech conversations to networking over pizza, every moment contributed to a community-driven push toward Web3 innovation. Participants left feeling inspired, equipped to build, and well-fed, both intellectually and literally. In September 2024, I had the opportunity to work with ICP HUB India to organize a workshop. We had also planned a Hackathon for the same month, but unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control, things didn’t materialize. At the time, I didn’t think much of it and moved on. Fast forward to about a month ago —CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY officially partnered with ICP (special shoutout to Saikumar Swarnapudi) to organize HackTheBlock Hackathon and a HackerHouse - CrewHouz 3.0 — and I found myself back in the driver's seat for this event's organization! Putting everything else on hold, finalizing a team just 10 hours before the event kicked off, and then improvising and coordinating non-stop for the next three days was one of the best experiences I've had so far. It was a wild ride — high stakes, chaotic moments, but even higher learning. A heartfelt thank you to ICP HUB India, BlockseBlock, Bandhul Bansal Sir, Deepak Goyal Sir, Sahil Thakur, and ABHINAV for the opportunity, guidance, and wisdom. A huge thanks as well to Chandan Kushwaha, Charu Mehta, Mohit Aggarwal, ADITYA MOHARANA, and Manish Rai for their mentorship and constant support to all the developers involved. I would also like to sincerely thank Ruchika Gupta Ma'am, Dr. Aman Kaushik Sir, and Ravneet Kaur Ma'am for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. And lastly, none of this would have been possible without the incredible team we pulled together from CypherLock. Aditi Singh, Mansi Monga, Atharva Barge, Ritesh Patel, Himesh Fegade, Anant Inder Singh, Chinmay ___, Yashvi Bassi, Khushal Choudhary, Om Sharma, Komal Verma, Ichchha Sharma, Aakriti Jaketia, Somraj Laskar, Chandan Sharma, Ravina Patel, Harshit Kamboj, Nikhil Gadia, Neha Varma and Vasu Gomay. Three days. Two venues. One team. 21 people. My people. This toast is to you. 🥂 #HackTheBlock #CrewHouz #ICPHubIndia #CypherLock

- Transparency Update - CypherLock is a community built around cybersecurity and blockchain, focused on organizing educational events and creating hubs for knowledge sharing and deep dives into security. Originally formed as a co-curricular club under Chandigarh University, CypherLock has come a long way, expanding into areas beyond just cybersecurity. We started off with one goal — to bring together like-minded people, break things, and improve the cybersecurity landscape at the university. Our friends at YAMA have done a great job facilitating and growing in a direction that complements that vision. For a while now, CypherLock has been operating as an independent entity — a registered business — facilitating and organizing events, partnering with other organizations, and working closely with various entities at Chandigarh University and across the country. In one such venture, we partnered with Broken Console in a sponsoring capacity to support their event "Broken Console: The Game Jam." ➡️ CypherLock’s total contribution for the event was ₹30,898. We believe in transparency, and as a currently negative cash flow entity, all finances were managed internally, without any external involvement. Thank you for your time.
