Seeing possibilities. Taking action. Enabling progress.

About us

Enactus, formerly known as Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), is an international non-profit organization present in 39 countries around the world, with over 67,000 students as active members. Enactus brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals, and industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better and more sustainable world. Since its inception in 2007, Enactus SRCC has undertaken several community outreach projects as part of this shared mission. Of the 16 projects to date, 13 have been successfully completed, and three are ongoing. Our running projects are 'Leher', ‘Virasat’ and 'Amal'. Leher means a wave of change. We at Project Leher aim to create a cigarette-waste-free environment. Cigarette butts are made up of cellulose acetate, a.k.a. plastic. It is the highest pollutant in the ocean. We collect and upcycle cigarette butts to establish a sustainable end-to-end solution to the problem that threatens the environment of our world. Project Virasat is an umbrella organization that aims to revive the age-old craft forms of India and support the artisans involved in them. At present, we are reviving two craft forms, Gaurahari stonework and Usta art, by mobilizing artisans and providing them access to organized credit, contemporary designs, and better demand avenues. Project Amal is an initiative to uplift the farmer community by utilising the stubble waste and converting it into value. We create additional income sources for farmers while ensuring the sustainability of the environment through the substitution of non-renewable energy sources.

  • Today, on World Health Day, we’re reminded of the importance of good health, well-being, and universal access to quality healthcare. This reminds us of a stark reality; the lack of access to basic healthcare throughout rural India. The absence of adequate infrastructure, trained personnel and affordability, affects millions of the most underprivileged in the country. At Enactus SRCC, we believe in creating sustainable change through social entrepreneurship. One of our past projects, Project Nidaan was born from this vision — to make healthcare accessible and affordable in the remotest corners of India. Focusing on the rural areas of Haryana, the project set up health camps and telemedicine centres to bridge the barrier of distance from these underprivileged areas. In just three months, Nidaan reached thousands, trained 15 rural women as healthcare facilitators, and laid the foundation for a sustainable model of rural healthcare delivery. Even Today, Project Nidaan remains a powerful example of how innovation and the strive for positive change can drive real-world impact. As we reflect on its success, we are reminded that social entrepreneurship is not just about solving problems — it’s about transforming lives. This World Health Day, let’s reflect on the value of health and well-being — and do our part to ensure everyone has access to the care they deserve. #worldhealthday #socialentrepreneurship #healthforall #enactus #enactusrcc

At Enactus SRCC, we are dedicated to harnessing entrepreneurial solutions for social good. P-TAL (Punjab Thathera Art Legacy), launched in 2017 under Project Virasat, is a cornerstone of this mission, highlighting the Thathera artisans of Jandiala Guru and their UNESCO-acknowledged craft. Upon meeting the artisans, we observed a troubling reality: disorganisation and internal competition for limited demand. Rather than collaborating, artisans were competing against each other, which hindered their growth. In response, we established a self-help group (SHG) to foster cooperation and solidarity among them, registering artisans under this group and providing artisan ID cards to legitimize their craft. Over three years, we created market opportunities by connecting with 12 retail outlets and 18 e-commerce platforms and organising exhibitions to showcase their work. These efforts resulted in a remarkable 600% increase in artisans’ income, empowering over 42 families. P-TAL stands as a testament to the Thatheras' resilience and the vital role of community collaboration in preserving cultural heritage. #ThrowbackThursday #SocialEntrepreneurship #ProjectVirasat #EmpoweringArtisans #Craftsmanship #SocialImpact

  • The Strength of Women in Every Story: On this International Women’s Day, we take a moment to reflect on the unparalleled strength, resilience, and dedication of the women around us. At Enactus SRCC, we have witnessed firsthand how empowered women empower communities—through initiatives like Project Asbah, where women are not only ensuring access to clean drinking water but are also leading the charge in transforming their communities for the better. These women are a beacon of hope and resilience, demonstrating that with the right opportunities, they can create lasting, impactful change. Today, we celebrate their courage, their leadership, and their ability to shape a better tomorrow. Let us continue to create spaces where every woman’s voice is heard, every talent is recognized, and every dream is within reach. Here’s to the women who lead, inspire, and transform the world—with strength, grace, and vision. #InternationalWomensDay #Empowerment #EnactusSRCC #WomenOfChange

Mission Possible: Turning Challenges into Change At Enactus SRCC, we believe every challenge holds the potential for a breakthrough. Complex problems often seem insurmountable, but with strategy, adaptability, and persistence, we’ve learned that the impossible is often just unexplored potential waiting to be unlocked. Project Asbah: Access to Clean Water Bringing clean water to underserved communities wasn’t easy. We faced fragile filters, logistical setbacks, and operational hurdles. However, by redesigning, collaborating, and refining our approach, we found a solution. Today, over 46,750 people have access to safe drinking water. Project Leher: Transforming Cigarette Waste Addressing cigarette waste pollution felt overwhelming. Sourcing, detoxification, and public awareness posed significant challenges. However, through efficient collection networks and eco-friendly processing, we transformed waste into valuable resources. Project Virasat: Preserving Artisanal Heritage Generations of artisans were watching their craft fade away, threatened by the digital era. We saw an opportunity. By connecting them to global markets, we are preserving art, stories, heritage, and livelihoods. At Enactus SRCC, we don’t just solve problems—we embrace them, learn from them, and push forward. When passion meets purpose, change is always possible. #Artisans #Sustainability #SocialInnovation #CulturalHeritage #EnactusSRCC #ImpactfulChange

  • In the quiet corners of India, artisans carry the weight of cultural heritage, weaving history into every intricate design they create. These master craftsmen preserve traditions like Gaurahari art and Usta art, keeping the vibrant colours of our Virasat alive for future generations. With ‘Project Virasat’, we celebrate these timeless skills while building pathways to a brighter future. Through their hands, art transforms into legacy and legacy into livelihood. But our mission does not stop there. ‘Project Leher’ takes the story of transformation further by repurposing cigarette butts into exquisite ceramic planters and sturdy bricks. These handcrafted creations are not just sustainable products; they are emblems of hope and proof that even the discarded can find purpose. At Enactus SRCC, we are proud to amplify their stories, their crafts, and their impact. Together, we are not just protecting the past but building a future where innovation breathes through tradition and waste transforms into value. #Artisans #Sustainability #SocialInnovation #CulturalHeritage #EnactusSRCC #ImpactfulChange

  • Empowering Changemakers, Preserving Legacies- On November 10th, we celebrated a moment of immense pride for Project Virasat as Asif Ji, one of our exceptionally talented artisans, was honored with the prestigious ‘Main Hoon Karigar’ award by Karigari Restaurant, a leading restaurant chain committed to promoting Indian craftsmanship. A true maestro of Gaurahari art, Asif Ji’s journey is a testament to resilience, dedication, and the transformative power of traditional crafts. From earning just ₹10,000 to building a sustainable livelihood of over ₹1 crore annually, he has not only safeguarded his family’s artistic legacy but also redefined how heritage crafts can flourish in today’s world. This recognition is more than just an award—it’s a milestone in our mission to revive India’s endangered art forms and uplift the artisans who are their torchbearers. Asif Ji’s inspiring story resonates with artisans across the nation, proving that determination, paired with the right support, can spark remarkable change. We are deeply grateful to Karigari Restaurant for acknowledging his incredible achievements and joining us in celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage. Together, we continue to strive toward bringing these timeless crafts to the global stage. #EmpoweringArtisans #SocialImpact #IndianCraftsmanship #CulturalPreservation #TraditionalArtForms #SustainableDevelopment
