So aptly put Nishill Shah.. Labour availability and productivity is not a future challenge.. its here and now.. And to people who are skeptical about the advancements, "Modernization doesn't mean abandoning Best practices".. "Digitization doesn't mean Losing on-ground connect".. "Automation doesn't mean Replacing people".. Its all about doing more with existing workforce and enhancing productivity.. FloMobility is proud to be associated with Hetu Construction Private Limited and playing our part in helping the industry build better and faster. #constructionrobotics #autonomous #visionAI

Manpower issues since Holi 2025 - A Reality Check for the Construction Industry in Gujarat! Since the Holi festival this year, Gujarat’s construction industry has been facing a severe manpower shortage — a challenge that's increasingly difficult to ignore. But why is this happening? Here are some real on-ground observations: 1. Changing Priorities in Rural India: More workers are staying back in their villages, attending longer marriage seasons and family functions. Social aspirations and lifestyle patterns are evolving. 2. Alternative Income Opportunities: With platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit, etc., earning money has become easier and more flexible for many — no harsh site conditions, no migration, and quick payouts. 3. Rising Cost of Retention: Labourers now expect higher wages, better living conditions, and quicker payments. Meeting these expectations is often not feasible. 4. Seasonal Migration Patterns: Every year, festivals cause a dip in labour availability, but this time, the return rates are slower than ever before. So, what does this mean for the future of construction? I believe this is a wake-up call for the industry. 1. Precast Technology 2. FRP based solutions/materials 3. Mechanization and Automation 4. Skill Development with Tech Adaptation The only sustainable way forward is to reduce dependency on large-scale manual labour and invest in faster, cleaner, and more efficient methods of construction. We’re actively exploring and implementing such solutions across our projects at Hetu Construction Private Limited — from machinery-led execution to Precast and FRP elements that reduce time and labour requirements on site. As of now we have used FRP bars instead of steel bars for an industrial project, some infra related precast elements and we're using FloMobility at an institutional club project. The labour crisis isn't just a problem — it's also a pivot point. Those who adapt will build faster, better, and smarter. Would love to hear from others in the industry — are you facing similar issues? How are you adapting? #construction #constructionindustry #manpower #precast #Gujarat #realestate #infrastructure #frp #contractor Hirak Desai Jash Desai

Last week, as part of a course assignment at Christ University, Bangalore, I had an incredible opportunity to interact and conduct an interview with Mr. Manesh Jain. He's the Co-Founder and CEO of FloMobility—a startup building robots for autonomous mobility in the construction industry. Few key points discussed in the interview were as follows: - The greatest advantage and the biggest challenge of building a startup in India. - The need for striking balance between R&D and commercialization for tech startups. - His views on the startup ecosystem in India following the recent remarks made by our commerce minister Mr. Piyush Goyal. - Advice for the next generation of aspiring entrepreneurs. - The toughest decision he took while building Flo Mobility and how he dealt with it. The interview did not just give me an understanding of FloMobility's positioning as a tech startup and what it takes to build an impactful venture from ground up—but also helped me understand India's startup ecosytem as a whole. I would like to thank Mr. Manesh Jain for taking out time to join us for the interview as well as Samar R.S. Minhas and nayan Jain for assisting me in conducting the interview. Disrupting construction through Robotics, 3x founder, EV Enthusiast

Are Indian Startups overhyped? Is there any innovation really happening through Indian startups? Why are we lacking v/s China? "📺 The Prime Time show 'Debate with Arnab' on #RepublicTV 📺" We discussed these topics on the show and as part of panel representing founder's viewpoint, I didn't realize the big responsibility upon us - To express our point of view strongly, while maintaining optimism and conviction amidst all the negativity around the subject. The show opened on a provocative note 💣 , with startups labeled as #scams, founders branded as #frauds, and VC investments dismissed as money laundering schemes. Despite the harsh narrative, the founders on the panel remained composed and asserted that such generalizations overlook the broader reality - a few out-of-context examples, referred without ascertaining facts, do not define the entire startup universe. We emphasized the genuine #innovation emerging from Indian startups, as well as the structural challenges they face (see clip) To continue the narrative, I strongly believe that driving a radical transformation in deep tech innovation requires a strong alliance between the government, corporates, and academia - one that offers patient capital, supportive policy frameworks, and access to advanced research. This collaborative effort can empower founders to take bold, unconventional, and future-facing risks. 🚀 P.S. - Refer link in comments to view entire episode P.P.S - Had a great chat with #ArnabGoswami post the show. Found him very different from onscreen persona - warm, forthcoming and definitely not loud :-) #deeptechinnovation #StartupMahakumbh #startups ARTPARK nasscom deeptech FloMobility Republic World Blume Ventures DevX LetsVenture Indian Institute of Science (IISc) JITO INCUBATION & INNOVATION FOUNDATION

Between December 30 and January 4, Indian startups managed to raise a meagre $14 Mn across five deals. This marked a 46% dip from the $26 Mn capital raised across six deals in the preceding week 👇 Pertinent to mention that a similar downturn in capital influx was seen in the first week of January last year. In the first week of 2024, startups raised just $58 Mn across just nine deals.  Key Startup Funding Highlights Of The Week: ♦️ This week, IPO-bound non banking financial company Aye Finance raised $12.8 Mn in debt from a clutch of investors, including Northern Arc, ASK Financial Holdings. This was the largest funding round of the week. ♦️ Edtech emerged as the most funded sector this week. While Klassroom secured an undisclosed amount in a Pre-Series A funding round led by ah! Ventures, NumberOne Academy also raised $350K from angel investor Santosh Nair. ♦️ Two startups at a seed stage, CargoFL and Flo Mobility, raised $787K this week.
