Prof. Balan Gurumoorthy, Director, FSID – IISc, emphasized the need to strengthen innovation capacity at both ends of the talent spectrum — empowering grassroots innovators through skill development while supporting high-end scientific research. Dr Anupama Shetty, Mission Director, Biocon Foundation - India, presented research on mass rapid transport systems, examining their environmental and public health implications to inform sustainable urban design. Prof. @Pramod Kumar, Chair, ICER, IISc, showcased how CSR-enabled funding helped develop an eco-friendly refrigerant, reducing carbon emissions and addressing high-temperature challenges. Mr. Debasis Ghosh, Director, Blue Pencil Strategies, urged corporates to bridge compliance capital with innovation, recognizing failures as stepping stones in the journey of scientific discovery.
