The landscape of legal careers in India is evolving rapidly. Many young lawyers are reassessing the dominance of large law firms and exploring new pathways that promise impact, purpose, and sustainability. Recent trends show that Indian law firms have seen departure rates of nearly 33%, as more lawyers explore dynamic roles across smaller firms and in-house positions. In-house legal careers now offer strong growth, with early professionals earning around ₹10 lakhs and senior General Counsels averaging ₹1.5 crore annually.
