The Generative AI Kids Competition at SMCA Durga Puja, in collaboration with HashHackCode, showed how children can merge tradition with technology in inspiring ways. From festive colors to futuristic visions and beautifully detailed pandals, their works showed how technology can become a canvas for cultural imagination. It was amazing to see children express the festive spirit of Durga Puja and create images that reimagined tradition in new ways at the Generative AI Kids Competition, hosted at SMCA Durga Puja in collaboration with HashHackCode. Using AI as a creative tool, kids explored themes like Durga Puja in the future and even created realistic Durga Puja pandals with incredible detailing. Each artwork was unique—showing how technology can help the next generation celebrate culture while innovating through their own vision. A big thank you to SMCA, our judge Varun Venkata Krishnan, and all the young participants who made this event a true celebration of tradition meeting technology. HashHackCode has partnered with the South Madras Cultural Association - India Cultural Association (SMCA) Charitable Trust to bring the Generative AI Kids Competition to this year’s SMCA Durga Puja celebrations in Chennai. This unique collaboration highlights the fusion of creativity, culture, and technology. Through the Creative English – Gen AI handbook, participants will learn how to craft prompts and use AI as a creative tool to design original, festival-inspired art. This makes SMCA Durga Puja one of the first cultural festivals in Chennai to feature an AI-powered art challenge for children. From Artist to Coder: Sruthi’s Inspiring Journey with HashHackCode Shruti’s journey with HashHackCode started with a spark of curiosity. She had always believed coding was all about complex maths and science, something far from her world of art. But as she explored it step by step, she discovered that coding could be creative, enjoyable, and surprisingly easy to learn. This new skill not only boosted her confidence but also opened her eyes to the fact that if she could learn coding, she could learn anything. Today, Sruthi blends her artistic talent with programming, creating everything from her own apps and websites to AI avatars.
