ICSSR’s Efforts to Take Indian Thought to the Global Arena at #FrankfurtBookFair2025! ICSSR organised a panel discussion on its recently published books “Indian Thinkers” and “Understanding India and Its Problems” Edited by Dr. B.B. Kumar. Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, ICSSR, Prof. Milind S. Marathe, Chairman, NBT and Mr. Arindam Mukherjee, Director, Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, Kolkata discussed the themes and insights from the books that present major Indian thinkers of the last two centuries, as well as contemporary developmental challenges of India and public policies to meet them.

Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) was established in the year of 1969 by the Government of India to promote research in social sciences in the country. ICSSR provide grants for projects, fellowships, international collaboration, capacity building, survey, publications etc. to promote research in social sciences in India. Documentation center of ICSSR - National Social Science Documentation Centre (NASSDOC) - provides library and information support services to researchers in social sciences. ICSSR has developed ICSSR Data Service to serve as a national data service for promoting powerful research environment through sharing and reuse of data among social science community in India.

Bharat National Stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025 was inaugurated by Ms. Shuchita Kishore, Consul General of India, Frankfurt in the presence of Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe, Chairman, NBT and Shri Kumar Vikram, Chief Editor & Joint Director, NBT. It was a happy moment for the ICSSR that the Consul General visited our stand and took keen interest in our publications. The Member Secretary explained to her our publications, and presented her our book on 'Lord Siva in India and Abroad' and 'Narratives of COVID-19: from the Social Science Communities in India and the Philippines'.

Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, ICSSR had a fruitful meeting and interaction with Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Dean and CEO & Dr. Dil Rahut, Vice Chair of Research, Senior Research Economist, Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo, Japan. The meeting featured on having collaboration on Research, Capacity Building and Training, and Outreach and Knowledge Management. The topics of research of ADBI purely align with the ICSSR's thematic areas of research.
