Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has been the 𝑻𝑶𝑹𝑪𝑯-𝑩𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑬𝑹 to achieve the goal of 𝑽𝑰𝑲𝑺𝑰𝑻 𝑩𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑻 2047, the dream of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. Department of Science & Technology, Government of India has entrusted Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) as a trusted partner for Capacity Building of its Scientists and Officers in various fields since long. It is a double delight for IIPA (Official) that both share the same Patron in the form of Hon'ble Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh. IIPA is happily carrying out the Programme of 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖 𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 for not only Scientists of #DST but several Scientists from other Organizations like Department Of Atomic Energy | परमाणु ऊर्जा विभाग Ministry of Earth Sciences Department of Space (DoS) and others are attending this One week Capacity Building Programme. Namami Gange Programme is a very ambitious Programme of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Govt. of India and National Mission For Clean Ganga for Ganga Rejuvenation and holistic Development of Ganga Basin. IIPA is an important 𝗖𝗢𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗦 of this Programme by providing Capacity Building to various Stakeholders in Ganga Basin like Government Officers, Academicians, District Ganga Committees, School and College Students and others. IIPA Team Namami Gange is not only doing Trainings at #IIPA but doing Awareness Programmes at different locations and sites in Ganga Basin. Recently, it's done Awareness Programme about Namami Gange for students of Army Public School Kolkata and Vidya Vihar Residential School, Purnea, Bihar . Continuing its long association with INDIAN COAST GUARD , IIPA has commenced another One week Programme for its Officials expanding IIPA outreach to 11075 Km Indian coastline from Andaman Nikobar Islands to #Lakshdweep and from West coast to East coast. The 03 Week Foundational Capacity Building Programme for the Management Trainees of AGRICULTURE INSURANCE COMPANY OF INDIA LIMITED also concluded successfully this week marking a new feather in the cap of IIPA. Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) has emerged as a trusted partner for Ministry of External Affairs, India for its 𝑰𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑹𝑵𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑨𝑳 𝑻𝑬𝑪𝑯𝑵𝑰𝑪𝑨𝑳 𝑪𝑶𝑶𝑷𝑬𝑹𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 (𝑰𝑻𝑬𝑪) Programme imparting Capacity Building Programmes to Officers of over 50 Countries across the Globe. It's a proud privilege that Hon'ble Union Minister and Chairman IIPA Dr Jitendra Singh interacted with the Participants of the Ongoing ITEC Programme which is being attended by 34 Officers from 20 Countries like Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ecuador, South Africa, Nepal, Maldives, Myanmar, Fiji, Suriname and others. These ITEC Programmes are helping India forge stronger relationships with several countries which is highly essential in this 𝑽𝑼𝑪𝑨 (𝑽𝑶𝑳𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑳𝑬, 𝑼𝑵𝑪𝑬𝑹𝑻𝑨𝑰𝑵, 𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑷𝑳𝑬𝑿 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑨𝑴𝑩𝑰𝑮𝑼𝑶𝑼𝑺) world. The Hon'ble Minister participated in the 𝑺𝑾𝑨𝑪𝑯𝑯𝑻𝑨 𝑯𝑰 𝑺𝑬𝑽𝑨 (Cleanliness Campaign) also at IIPA Campus as well as administered the 𝑺𝑾𝑨𝑪𝑯𝑯𝑻𝑨 𝑷𝑳𝑬𝑫𝑮𝑬 to the Participants. Under the campaign to make India green 𝑬𝑲 𝑷𝑬𝑫 𝑴𝑨𝑨 𝑲𝑬 𝑵𝑨𝑨𝑴, launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, he also planted an Ashoka Plant in the Campus. The Day culminated in the conclusion and Valedictory of the Ongoing Programme for the Officers of INDIAN COAST GUARD which is doing a wonderful job for not only our 𝑴𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑻𝑰𝑴𝑬 𝑺𝑬𝑪𝑼𝑹𝑰𝑻𝒀 with a huge coastline of 11075 Kms but also preventing 𝑯𝑼𝑴𝑨𝑵 𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑭𝑭𝑰𝑪𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑮 and 𝑫𝑹𝑼𝑮 𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑭𝑭𝑰𝑪𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑮 both of which take recourse to Ocean/Sea routes. Not only these, it is doing exemplary work in the fields of Disaster management whenever 𝑪𝒀𝑪𝑳𝑶𝑵𝑬𝑺 or 𝑻𝑺𝑼𝑵𝑨𝑴𝑰𝑺 strike and the numbers are growing manifolds due to 𝑪𝑳𝑰𝑴𝑨𝑻𝑬 𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑬 and 𝑶𝑪𝑬𝑨𝑵 𝑾𝑨𝑹𝑴𝑰𝑵𝑮 & 𝑼𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑹𝑺𝑬𝑨 𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑯𝑸𝑼𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑺. Also, it's doing great work in 𝑶𝑰𝑳-𝑺𝑷𝑰𝑳𝑳 𝑷𝑹𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 preventing Sea pollution and protecting Ocean biodiversity. Conclusion of a truly hectic week ! Continuing its ever expanding footprints in new avenues, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) has now forayed into Capacity Building of newly appointed Management Trainees of AGRICULTURE INSURANCE COMPANY OF INDIA LIMITED. Still a largely agrarian country, India has around 46 % of population dependent on agriculture and allied sectors with its contribution to GDP around 18 %. Climate change, disasters like floods and draughts, vagaries of Monsoon...all result in crop damages and destruction, affecting farmers' incomes and add to their miseries. As such, 𝑨𝑮𝑹𝑰𝑪𝑼𝑳𝑻𝑼𝑹𝑬 𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑼𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑬 is so important here. However, its penetration is still very low with only around 30 % of gross cropped area insured, Insurance penetration as a percentage of GDP only at 0.62% and only around 22% of total farmers are covered by insurance. Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India is making huge efforts to enhance the coverage and educate the farmers through its schemes like 𝑷𝑹𝑨𝑫𝑯𝑨𝑵 𝑴𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑹𝑰 𝑭𝑨𝑺𝑨𝑳 𝑩𝑰𝑴𝑨 𝒀𝑶𝑱𝑨𝑵𝑨 (𝑷𝑴𝑭𝑩𝒀) and 𝑹𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑪𝑻𝑼𝑹𝑬𝑫 𝑾𝑬𝑨𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑹 𝑩𝑨𝑺𝑬𝑫 𝑪𝑹𝑶𝑷 𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑼𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑬 𝑺𝑪𝑯𝑬𝑴𝑬 (𝑹𝑾𝑩𝑪𝑰𝑺). However, Insurance companies have also to make efforts to educate and familiarise the farmers about the benefits of agriculture insurance. And this makes economic sense for the companies as it will increase their premium income also. To sensitize the young officers about all these and inculcating Management and Soft Skills like Effective Communication, Emotional Intelligence, Team Building and Leadership Qualities etc., IIPA (Official) has commenced a 03 Week Programme for AICians. It's wonderful to be amongst, and to interact with the young bright minds who are going to be very important cogs in the wheels of 𝑽𝑰𝑲𝑺𝑰𝑻 𝑩𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑻 𝑩𝑬𝑭𝑶𝑹𝑬 2047, a dream of our Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. National Service Scheme is a programme of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India aimed at 𝑯𝑶𝑳𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑪 𝑫𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑳𝑶𝑷𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻 𝑶𝑭 𝑺𝑻𝑼𝑫𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑺 through community service. It aims at fostering leadership qualities, teamship, social responsibility and national integration in students. Started in 1969, the 𝑩𝑰𝑹𝑻𝑯 𝑪𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑨𝑹𝒀 𝑶𝑭 𝑴𝑨𝑯𝑨𝑻𝑴𝑨 𝑮𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑯𝑰, it has grown from a meagre 40,000 initially to a whopping 04.00 million student volunteers presently spread across all over India in Universities, Colleges, Technical Institutions and other Academic Institutions. A proud moment for Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) when Hon'ble Union Minister and Chairman IIPA Dr Jitendra Singh visited and chaired the 327th meeting of the IIPA Executive Council (Governing Board). The Hon'ble Minister emphasized the need for stronger integration of governance training with emerging technologies such as 𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑰𝑭𝑰𝑪𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑰𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑳𝑳𝑰𝑮𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬, digital platforms, and data-driven tools. He underlined the importance of equipping scientists and academicians—who often transition into senior administrative positions—with governance and communication skills. He also spoke on the evolving role of social media in governance, urging sensitisation of officers on responsible use and called for dedicated workshops to address the "𝑯𝑶𝑾 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑯𝑶𝑾 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝑻𝑶” 𝑶𝑭 𝑺𝑶𝑪𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑴𝑬𝑫𝑰𝑨 𝑬𝑵𝑮𝑨𝑮𝑬𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻, noting the risks of misinformation and the need for credible public communication. He also lauded the expanding footprints of IIPA with Capacity Building Programmes for State Govt. and Block level Officers who are the backbones of 𝑮𝑹𝑨𝑺𝑺𝑹𝑶𝑶𝑻 𝑷𝑼𝑩𝑳𝑰𝑪 𝑨𝑫𝑴𝑰𝑵𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑮𝑶𝑽𝑬𝑹𝑵𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑬, and opening of new 𝑰𝑰𝑷𝑨 𝑩𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑯 𝑨𝑻 𝑵𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑬𝑫, Maharashtra. The Hon'ble Minister, a voracious reader and acclaimed Author himself, visited 𝑰𝑰𝑷𝑨 𝑳𝑰𝑩𝑹𝑨𝑹𝒀 also and spent a considerable time there. He appreciated the fact that IIPA Library has over 2.30 lakh physical books and journals and is connected with the whole world Online and important Journals and Books across the Globe are available Online here.
