  • On 15 May 2022, ultra-distance cyclist, runner, mountaineer, and motivational speaker Sunil Nataraj unfurled the #SaveSoil flag at 8,848m on the summit of Mount Everest. Braving biting cold, deadly icefalls, frostbite, and oxygen-starved climbs, he carried the movement to the top of the world. Driven by relentless commitment, years of preparation, and unshakable mental endurance, he turned extreme adversity into a mission to revitalize the world's dying soil and fulfill a generational responsibility. #SaveSoil #MountEverest #Climb #Trek

In a small village near Coimbatore, 80-year-old Chinnamuthu, a widow and construction labourer, noticed one side of her face drooping as she prepared for work. Within moments, she was rushed to the nearest Isha Rural Health Clinic. Her blood pressure read a dangerous 220/112 mmHg, she had suffered a stroke. The clinic team acted swiftly, administering emergency medication and referring her to the government hospital. “If this clinic hadn’t been close by, I may not have survived,” she says. Today, she visits the clinic regularly for follow-ups, grateful for the second chance that timely care provided her. A few kilometres away, 55-year-old Perumal Swamy, an agricultural labourer, collapsed from severe chest pain. His family brought him to the same clinic, where tests revealed a heart attack. Thanks to the availability of the Troponin-I test - a facility rarely found in rural areas, his condition was diagnosed within minutes. Stabilized and referred for surgery, a stent was placed to restore his heart’s blood flow. “Without the clinic nearby, I might not have made it,” he says, now living a healthier, steadier life under the clinic’s follow-up care. Poverty is not merely about money; it is a wound that strips people of dignity and possibility. In this land with over 12,000 years of agricultural history, where food can grow year-round, no one should go hungry. This is not a question of capability, but of attention. ARR is built on that attention, its a conscious action rooted in compassion and capability. From healthcare and sanitation to livelihood and sports, ARR has touched over 11.3 million people across 7,500 villages in South India. Its Free Mobile Health Clinics bring doctors to the remotest areas, while Isha Rural Health Clinics like the one that saved Kamalam and Perumal provide affordable treatment every day. The Arogya Alai campaign spreads awareness on preventive healthcare, and the Sports for Transformation program revives community spirit through play and yoga. The annual Isha Gramotsavam celebrates rural culture, its games, music, and crafts renewing pride in village life. Meanwhile, ARR’s Clean Villages-Clean Toilets, solid waste management, and Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) initiatives are strengthening health, hygiene, and economic resilience from within. During the pandemic, ARR stood by rural families and migrant workers, ensuring that compassion was not just an emotion but a lifeline. On this International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, as we reflect on how poverty diminishes human potential, ARR stands as living proof that transformation is possible when compassion becomes infrastructure. Thanks to the generous support of our donors and partners, millions in rural India now have access to healthcare, livelihood, and dignity. Together we are rebuilding the foundation of rural wellbeing. New India Assurance | Hero FinCorp | CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited
