Appreciation Post
A few nights ago, we had a serious medical emergency at home. My mind froze. My hands shook. You know that feeling when every second stretches too long, and all you want is for everything to be okay again? If you don’t, count yourself unbelievably lucky.
Instinctively, I reached for the one app that’s become second nature by now, Blinkit. But this time, it wasn’t for groceries. It was for an ambulance.
Within 3-4 minutes, red and blue headlights glowed outside. A Blinkit ambulance.
Two paramedics stepped out, calm, steady, and quick. What followed is something I'll always remember:
They moved with precision but spoke with warmth, professionals with the empathy of a family. Somehow, they managed to move not one but 2 XXL-sized patients through a narrow hallway where a stretcher couldn’t fit, gently, skillfully, not a single harsh movement, not a single raised voice.
The ambulance itself? Stocked and Spotless. Every inch thought through. The handover at the emergency ward was seamless, like choreography perfected over a hundred rehearsals.
They didn’t just bring medical assistance. They brought presence, calm, and a sense of control when mine had vanished.
By the way, all this, free of charge. (Mad, right?)
In that moment, Blinkit wasn’t an app. It was a lifeline. (Mental note: invest heavily when it goes public.)
Maybe this is a glimpse of where India is heading, not just faster services, but deeper empathy built into the systems themselves. Insurance cos, are you listening?
Thank you, Blinkit, Javed, and Nikhil. Your actions were priceless and thankfully all is well now. (Albinder Dhindsa, give them a raise pls?)
The least I could do? Do all my Dhanteras and Diwali shopping on Blinkit this year. 🙏💛
