It was an honour & pleasure to participate in the 9th LNG India Summit 2025 held at New Delhi (24th & 25th September 2025). As a Panelist in the discussion on ‘Small Scale LNG business" on 25 September 2025, I highlighted the following points regarding how the NATURAL GAS SOCIETY (NGS) will contribute to building a robust SSLNG ecosystem: * As the Convenor of stakeholders & platform for policy inputs, NGS will endeavour to bring together the terminals, shipping/feeder operators, CGDs, OEMs, ports and regulator to convert operational blockers into targeted policy asks — using our advocacy channels. * Enabling in fast-tracking common SOPs, safety checklists and technical guidance for bunkering, small-scale storage and dispensing — lowering permit time & operational risk via safety assurance and adopting best practices. * Deliver targeted training and competency frameworks for CGD crews, terminal staff and feeder vessel personnel — improving safety and stakeholder confidence through innovative initiatives such as the ज्ञानानुभव प्रवाह सहयात्रा Gyaanaanubhav Prawaah Sahayaatraa (GPS) site-visits, workshops and our MoUs with HSSC/IGEM, etc. * Knowledge products & data-driven advocacy through researched articles on demand, snapshots and case studies via our Gas Statistics Review (GSR) / Snapshot series so that the financiers, CGDs and terminals can build bankable models with transparent data. * Coordinate for demonstration chains (terminal → feeder vessel → CGD hub → dispensing station), using GPS-style learning visits so successful models are rapidly replicable. * International best practice transfer by leveraging MoUs and international linkages, NGS will help to adapt proven global standards and curricula to Indian conditions to speed safe deployment. While concluding, I made an appeal to all the relevant entities/stakeholders to bring their respective “Pain Points” to the notice of NGS and we assure that the same will be examined, compiled and put up to the Policy makers/Regulator for addressing such issues appropriately. With coordinated pilots, safety-first standards and workforce readiness, we can unlock affordable, decarbonising fuel access across India.
