Strengthening inclusion and digital safety   In line with the Trust & Safety India Festival (TASI 2025) in New Delhi, we hosted a fireside chat with Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, National Informatics Centre, MeitY, Maj. Gen. K. Narayanan, Programme Director (Security & Law), NITI Aayog and Dr. Subi Chaturvedi , SVP, InMobi on explored how women-led innovation can make the digital world safer and more inclusive. Ambassador Marisa Gerards together with our agriculture team visited #Panipat and #Rajpura on a two-day exploration trip in #Punjab. The soils there are rich and the agricultural opportunities plenty, and many links between Dutch and Indian agriculture can be found there.   A first stop was to meet an Indian grower family in Panipat. They grow cucumbers, bitter gourd and rice and use seeds from the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan to produce high-value vegetables. Farmer Mittan impressed the Dutch visitors with the stories of the good quality and health benefits of the bitter gourd, a vegetable the visitor saw for the first time.   In Rajupra, Ambassador Marisa Gerards, together with Honourable Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Mr. Co De Heus, Chairman of the Board, inaugurated the De Heus Animal Nutrition India new feed factory. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador recalled laying the foundation stone two years ago and congratulated the team of this Dutch company on completing the project.   #Womenfarmers play a key role in food production and providing for household nutrition in Punjab, in all its aspects. The team was very inspired by the visit to seed potato producer Mahindra HZPC and the meeting with the women who are leading in management and research in the company. Ambassador bonded with the Indian female farmers with her story from the Netherlands of working in farms with her fellow students during fruit harvest season. #Didyouknow that it takes 6 years before the tissue culture that is imported from Netherlands is multiplied and tested in the fields south of Chandigarh before the seed potatoes are ready for sales to potato farmers?       For our new Agriculture Counsellor, Ms. Marion van Schaik, these visits provided a good opportunity to understand about the #agriculture development in India and bilateral cooperation in #horticulture and #livestock sector.

My name is Punit Gandhi, and I am excited to join the Economic Department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in India as Senior Policy Officer (Hydrogen, Climate Finance & Energy Transition). Having studied at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, it feels special to now be part of the Dutch mission in India. My professional journey has taken me through government collaborations as well as entrepreneurship in the rooftop solar sector, experiences that I hope will help in advancing the hydrogen, energy transition and climate finance agenda. In this role, I look forward to building strong partnerships with government and industry to accelerate the shift towards greener fuels and a sustainable future. I am excited about this new chapter and look forward to connecting with those working on energy transition and sustainability!
