I recently read an article by Prof. Krishna Kumar, former NCERT Director, on teacher burnout. It struck a deep chord. Across schools, teachers are leaving. Not because they don’t care, but because the system treats them like machines. Their worth is measured in reports, data sheets, and photo “proofs.” Creativity has been replaced by compliance. Kumar Sir calls it “bureaucratic aggression.”💔 Yet, there’s hope. At Pehchaan The Street School (Trust) , learning feels human. No ranks, no performance indicators. Growing up, I realized that not every teacher stands in front of a classroom. Some are never called teachers at all, yet they end up teaching us the most important lessons in life. My article ‘Unseen Teachers’ is about those people who guide us quietly, without any credit or recognition. It’s about parents, friends, mentors, and the volunteers at Pehchaan The Street School (Trust) who teach simply because they care. Writing it reminded me that learning often happens in small, simple moments filled with kindness and care. As I conclude my 12-week journey with Pehchaan The Street School (Trust), I want to say a huge thank you to every single person who made this experience possible. To my team-leader Saurev Krishna , my fellow volunteers and staff—you’ve believed in me, supported me, and worked alongside me with warmth, passion, and trust. This time has been more than just an internship or project—it’s been a moment of learning, hope, and connection.
