I recently read an article by Prof. Krishna Kumar, former NCERT Director, on teacher burnout. It struck a deep chord. Across schools, teachers are leaving. Not because they don’t care, but because the system treats them like machines. Their worth is measured in reports, data sheets, and photo “proofs.” Creativity has been replaced by compliance. Kumar Sir calls it “bureaucratic aggression.”💔 Yet, there’s hope. At Pehchaan The Street School (Trust) , learning feels human. No ranks, no performance indicators. Growing up, I realized that not every teacher stands in front of a classroom. Some are never called teachers at all, yet they end up teaching us the most important lessons in life.
