UK and India are shaping the future of global connectivity – together. At India Mobile Congress, we launched a new Connectivity and Innovation Centre, to help transform how we build, test, and deploy next generation 6G technologies. Backed by £24 million in joint funding, the Centre will use AI to make networks faster, smarter, and more secure. It will also help extend connectivity to rural areas and help defend against cyber threats. This initiative is part of the UK-India Technology Security Initiative, supporting the future focused #Vision2035 agreed by our Prime Ministers. It will bring together leading researchers and innovators from both countries to drive digital inclusion and build resilient, future-ready telecom infrastructure. A powerful example of international partnership driving real-world impact. UK Research and Innovation | Department of Telecommunications ( DOT )

Nine of UK’s leading universities have announced plans to open campuses in India, offering students access to new world-class opportunities, helping increase research collaboration, and driving innovation and growth. During his visit to India last week, Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that the University of Lancaster and the University of Surrey will also open new campuses here. In July, the University of Southampton became the first international university to be granted approval by India’s University Grants Commission to open a comprehensive campus in India. The University of York, University of Aberdeen, University of Bristol, University of Liverpool, Queen’s University Belfast, and the University of Coventry will open campuses from as early as next year. On International Day of the Girl Child, we’re celebrating the transformative power of sport to enhance education outcomes for young girls. Since 2007, the British Council and the Premier League have worked together to create positive change in schools and communities around the world. In India, the partnership has supported more than 7,500 educators and coaches across 18 states. Anne Aiza Khan, who was herself mentored through this partnership, founded Fairy Fari Foundation to empower children, especially girls, from less privileged backgrounds through football, education, and life skills. Here’s her story. #DayOfTheGirl | Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office | British Council
