As we celebrate International Week of Deaf People, we’re amplifying voices that share lived experiences and break stereotypes. Meet Rosa, a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult). She reminds us: - Don’t shout or exaggerate lip movements. Instead, face the Deaf person, speak normally, or even use writing or simple gestures. - And she breaks a myth - that Deaf parents can’t raise children. Rosa’s story shows otherwise: she was raised with love, care, and discipline by her Deaf parents, just like any other child. Let’s listen, learn, and create a world where communication and inclusion go hand in hand. #InternationalWeekOfDeafPeople #DeafInclusion #SignLanguageMatters #CODA #DeafVoices #InclusionForAll v-shesh, Rajasekharan Pazhaniappan (He,Him,His), Vaishnavi Ganesh, Joseph Romel, Anupriya Narendran, Ivasmita Baruah, Sakshi, Sultan Khadar, Shashaank Awasthi

This International Week of Deaf People, we celebrate a milestone. In partnership with Indian Sign Language Research And Training Centre, Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health, and Bajaj Finserv, we co-created 259 new Indian Sign Language signs on mental health and well-being, which were officially added to the Indian Sign Language Dictionary in March 2025. Since then: ✅ 125+ participants have joined workshops across India to learn these signs and open conversations on mental health in the Deaf community. ✅ 7 peer-support workshops have connected students, professionals, and mental health practitioners, creating safe spaces for dialogue and support. This is more than just new signs, it is about giving Deaf people equal access, voice, and dignity. Our heartfelt thanks to Kurush Irani, Dr. Aman Preet Kaur, and Surabhi Patil at Bajaj Finserv for championing this idea, and to all partners who made it possible. #InternationalWeekOfDeafPeople #SignLanguage #DisabilityInclusion #MentalHealth Rajasekharan Pazhaniappan (He,Him,His), Nalini Sagar, Ivasmita Baruah, Aakash Manokaran, Jayashree Kannan, Shashaank Awasthi, Sultan Khadar, Sakshi, Satish Sagar, Neethu Paulson
