We reported our financial results for the third quarter this morning. We delivered a solid performance in a continued challenging environment, with a group operating income of SEK 6.4 billion and a group operating margin of 7.4 per cent for the period. Our result was supported by certain one-off items, but a large contributor to the result was the effect of our ongoing SEK 18 billion cost and cash action plan, which delivered faster than planned reductions in variable and indirect costs during the quarter. Looking ahead, we expect more positive effects from our action plan and we continue to move towards an electric future. The ES90 is now on the road, production of the EX90 continues to ramp up, and our plant in Belgium is increasing EX30 production in the EU. We are also gearing up for the reveal and start of production of the all-new, born-electric EX60 SUV in 2026.

In collaboration with Swedish sustainable energy company Vattenfall, we’re taking a step to make it easier and more appealing for more customers to switch to fully electric cars. Starting in Sweden in February next year, all new private customers who purchase or lease a fully electric Volvo car will receive one year of complimentary fossil-free home charging. Drawing on insights gained locally, we then plan to scale and tailor the offer across Europe and beyond.

We are on a journey towards full electrification and eventually we’ll only build and sell electric cars. However, until infrastructure fully catches up and all our customers are ready to make the transition with us, we’ll also offer premium plug-in hybrids – electric cars with a back-up plan. They remain a significant pillar of our growth today and this month, we reached a significant milestone as we sold our one millionth plug-in hybrid. Underpinned by strong demand for the XC60 and XC90, our PHEV sales rose from almost 46,000 units in 2019 to over 177,000 in 2024. In the first half of this year, 23 per cent of our sales consisted of PHEVs. And we continue to develop our PHEV offering. Both the XC60 and XC90 were renewed last year, reinforcing their appeal, and we recently launched the XC70 SUV, our first long-range plug-in hybrid. Internal data shows that our PHEVs are driven in electric mode around half the time, illustrating how PHEVs are a great bridge towards our all-electric future. “Volvo Cars is committed to a fully electric future, and we will get there in a pace that suits our customers,” says Erik Severinson, our chief commercial officer. “Our plug-in hybrid cars are a crucial bridge towards that future for those customers who are not yet ready to go fully electric.” #VolvoCars

Yesterday we celebrated 70 years of Volvo Cars presence in the United States and 10 years since we broke ground in Charleston, South Carolina. Like our manufacturing plants in Europe and China, our Volvo Car Charleston Plant helps us tailor our products to regional customer demands and build where we sell as much as possible. The plant currently builds two car models, including our fully electric EX90 flagship SUV, our first truly software-defined vehicle. We continue to invest in our US plant and today we can reveal that before 2030, we plan to add a new, next-generation hybrid model to the plant. This car is designed to meet the specific demands of the US market, in line with our increased focus on regionalisation. This comes on top of our announcement earlier this year that South Carolina also will produce our best-selling XC60 SUV. #VolvoCars #Manufacturing

It’s already a World Luxury Car winner and has been hailed as “the best electric family SUV” available. As we’re opening the order books for the 2026 version of the Volvo EX90, we make “the best” even better, with faster charging and a more powerful core computer. The new 800-volt electric system enables significantly faster charging, working with our in-house battery management software and a smart algorithm to add up to 250 km of range in just 10 minutes*. The EX90 also gets a major boost in computing power, thanks to a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin-based core computer, which unlocks a suite of new connected safety, collision avoidance and driver support features. This includes the automatic e-call** function connected to Emergency Stop Assist, emergency steering in darkness, connected safety alerts for slippery roads and hazards ahead, and Park Pilot Assist for parallel parking. And here’s the best part: the new core computer upgrade isn’t just for new EX90s – owners of the 2025 model will receive a one-time free upgrade through a scheduled Volvo workshop visit. *Charging times can vary and depend on various factors such as outdoor temperature, battery condition and car condition. Our charging time was based on testing at 350 kW charging facilities. ** Availability of the automatic e-call function varies by market. If the function is available in the country where the incident takes place, the call centre can talk directly with the occupants in the car and contact emergency services if needed. #VolvoEX90 #VolvoCars

Striking, elegant and confident: our distinctive Black Edition variants are a popular choice among Volvo customers. The Black Edition is now available on the new XC90 SUV. Each Black Edition comes with unique exterior details, with the iron mark, grille, rear badges and wheels dressed in high gloss black. Inside you can choose between two all-black interior rooms, both with charcoal headlining and chequered aluminum decors, and two options of material for the charcoal-coloured seats. We’ve also added three exterior colour options: apart from the traditional Onyx Black, you can now also pick Crystal White, Denim Blue or Vapour Grey. With the addition of the XC90, five Volvo models are now offered in Black Edition trim. Other options include the XC60 plug-in hybrid, the fully electric EX40 and EC40, and the XC40 mild hybrid, while an EX30 Black Edition variant is also in the works. #VolvoCars #VolvoXC90 #VolvoBlackEdition

From the outside, our armoured XC90 and XC60 look just like any other Volvo. But beneath the surface, it’s a rolling fortress – engineered with advanced materials like aramid and stainless steel, laminated armoured glass, reinforced brakes, and heavy-duty wheels. Every detail is designed to provide discreet, certified protection without compromising the driving experience – including Google built-in and all-wheel drive. Ballistically certified to meet both American NIJ IIIA and European VPAM BRV 2009 standards, our armoured cars are built for those who need extra security – without drawing attention. Because peace of mind should never come at the cost of performance, design, or safety. #VolvoCars #VolvoXC90 #VolvoXC60

The new fully electric Volvo ES90 is now rolling into production for customers in Europe, another big step on our journey towards an all-electric future. Designed for life in balance, the ES90 offers safety, smart tech, and everyday versatility in the sleek shape of a modern electric sedan. It’s also the first Volvo to feature 800-volt technology, offering longer range and faster charging than any Volvo to date. And naturally, it's designed with our pioneering safety tech at its core, in a package that is set to be another Scandinavian design classic from Volvo Cars. Powered by next-generation core computing and our Superset tech stack, the ES90 will keep evolving over time with continuous software updates. Customers in several European markets can order the car, with deliveries expected to start later this year. The ES90 will also be making its way to key markets in Asia Pacific soon. #VolvoCars #VolvoES90
