State-run telecom operator BSNL LTD has signed MoUs with Ericsson India, Qualcomm, Cisco, and Nokia to drive India’s digital transformation and strengthen the country’s technology training ecosystem. The collaboration will roll out advanced training in 5G, AI/ML, networking, and digital technologies at BSNL’s Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training BRBRAITT in Jabalpur part of a broader plan to establish a Telecom Innovation, Research and Training Centre (TIRTC). Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia said the initiative, backed by industry leaders, will train over 2,000 students annually, with Phase 1 investments exceeding ₹1 crore. Each partner will contribute specialized expertise Ericsson and Nokia will set up 5G and AI/ML labs, Qualcomm will offer advanced 5G and AI training, and Cisco will provide free networking and cybersecurity courses via its global Networking Academy. The effort aims to position Jabalpur as a hub for cutting-edge telecom education while developing a future-ready, job-oriented workforce.
