🚨 RBI’s New Co-Lending Directions, 2025 – Effective Jan 1, 2026 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued new Co-Lending Arrangements Directions, 2025, which will come into effect on January 1, 2026. These guidelines will likely broaden the scope of co-lending 1️⃣ Mandatory Skin in the Game – Each Regulated Entity (RE) must retain minimum 10% of every loan (no shadow partnerships) 2️⃣ Blended Interest Rate – Final rate to borrower = weighted average of each lender’s rate. All fees to be factored into APR & Key Facts Statement 3️⃣ 15-Day Transfer Rule – Partner RE must book its share within 15 days of disbursement. 🚨 Big Change for Angel Investors in India SEBI has raised the bar for who qualifies as an Accredited Investor: 📉 Earlier: ₹2 Cr net tangible assets (excluding primary residence) was enough to start angel investing. 📈 Now: Net worth ≥ ₹7.5 Cr (with ₹3.75 Cr in financial assets) OR Income ≥ ₹2 Cr annually OR Income ≥ ₹1 Cr + Net worth ≥ ₹5 Cr (with ₹2.5 Cr in financial assets) Corporates/Trusts need ₹50 Cr net worth This raises a crucial question: 💭 What happens to those who met the earlier requirements, began their angel journey, but no longer qualify under the new rules? 👉 Will they be locked out of funds? 👉 Does early-stage capital shrink? 👉 Or will new models emerge to keep them engaged? Aster is coming for Hyperliquid. The CZ-backed Perp DEX might be more than just another clone. While there were Perp DEXs years before Hyperliquid, it was Hyperliquid that made it work... and now everyone wants in. But it's Aster that sees itself as a serious contender. Last week’s launch of $ASTER kicked off the conversation, but the DEX has actually been around since 2021 (it took a merger and a rebrand to bring us the current iteration). It’s been a strong few days for Aster. TVL jumped to $1.1bn and daily volume hit $3.4bn, compared that to Hyperliquid’s $6.6bn TVL and $8.5bn daily volume. Not bad for just a few days of publicity. But TVL and volume are meaningless in crypto. With incentives, billions can flow in or out overnight. What really matters is retention. So what's Aster's edge? There are a few key differences. Aster offers stock perps, is multichain (BNB Chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Solana), supports hidden orders (which will become an important topic), and allows LSTs as collateral. But the magic ingredient is CZ. We’re talking about arguably the most powerful and wealthy person in crypto and he's all in. CZ has forced things into existence before, and he’s on record saying the future of perps is on-chain. Binance already owns this market and is extremely unlikely to let it go without a fight. While other perp protocols like Lighter have seen huge traction recently, one thing is clear: this is crypto’s most serious fight for user attention.
