What are the best strategies for promoting entrepreneurship in an economy?
While people like to sanitise topics of entrepreneurship with only aggregated data, it's important to disaggregate the data across community , gender , economic status to see which sections of the society lag in entrepreneurship. For example: In case of gender, it's important to note that if say women (50% of the population) are lagging far behind men in entrepreneurship / workforce participation, the economy is suffering by 50%. It's like running a 4 wheeler car with just 2 wheels on one side - it will never work.

What are the best strategies for promoting entrepreneurship in an economy?
Entrepreneurship is a wide spectrum - from self employment vs large scale enterprise. For the small scale entrepreneur - tax incentives, access to credit and easy compliance norms creates a virtuous cycle of growth and profits which leads to value creation. For the larger scale equity/debt funded entrepreneur, a lot of times the a risk averse culture leads to taboo around failure. In addition, the govt's antagonistic approach to bankruptcy as a sign of a malafide usage of funds / embezzlement leads to harassment of a genuine entrepreneur. A very conscious bankruptcy code, and cultural acceptance that failure of an enterprise does not necessarily mean failure of an entrepreneur will go a long way in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.

Method and Apparatus for Tuning Tabla like Hand-played Musical Drums
Issued 403110
Currently Tabla like instruments which require tuning to a fixed frequency of sound, use
very classical mechanisms to hold the skin to the drum body. Hence to change the level
of tightness and hence change the tuning of the drum, it takes a lot of physical effort and
the use of hammer to tune it. Also the process is time taking. Due to this most Tabla

time and effort. It can be tuned easily within 2 minutes.Other inventorsSee patent

Indian Railways (IR), the largest rail passenger carrier in the world, has experienced 11 major accidents due to derailment or collision between trains in the year 2010, leading to several human casualties and large-scale disruptions in traffic. Alarmingly, 8 of these 11 accidents have occurred within a specific geographical region known as the Indo-Gangetic plain. In order to identify the general causes of such frequent accidents, and the specific factors leading to repeated accidents in a particular region, we systematically collect and analyze data of IR traffic over the last two decades. We find that there has been an unbalanced growth in IR traffic in the Indo-Gangetic plain over the last two decades, and consequently most of the high-traffic rail-routes presently lie in this region. However, construction of new tracks and train-routes has been nominal compared to the increase in traffic, leading to frequent congestion and over-utilization of existing tracks. Modeling the traffic-flow using computer simulations, we also show that if all trains were to travel in accordance with the IR schedule, the present infrastructure would be insufficient to handle the resultant traffic-flow in some of the high-traffic routes. Hence this study reflects some of the inherent problems in the scheduling of trains and evolution of IR, and also identifies several regions where traffic is likely to exceed safe limits.Other creatorsSee project
