Training Programme on Impact Assessment of Agricultural Technologies 08thAugust 2025, Hyderabad ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, organized a 5-day training programme on “Impact Assessment of Agricultural Technologies” from 04th to 08th August, 2025. A total of 29 participants, including 4 female participants from various ICAR institutes, State Agricultural Universities, and KVKs located in 17 states, attended the programme. The aim of the training programme was to strengthen the participants’understanding of impact assessment concepts, equip them with suitable analytical tools and methods for impact assessment like the Economic Surplus Model, Research spill over model, Difference in Difference method, PSM, Regression Discontinuity Method, Synthetic Control Method, etc. Participants were exposed to the open-source software viz., R and GRETL, and hands-on sessions Dr. Gopal Lal, Acting Director, ICAR-NAARM, in his valedictory address, emphasized the significance of impact assessment for accountability and enhanced transparency. He also urged the participants to conduct an impact assessment of the technologies that are promoted at their institutes. Dr. Tavva Srinivas, Head ABM encouraged the participants to practice more to develop their competency. The course directors Dr. B. Nirmala and Dr. SM Feroze thanked the faculty and staff associated with the programme and shared resource materials and codes with the participants.
