This stores your chats locally, for quick access. → The Messaging Backbone: XMPP and Beyond • WhatsApp doesn't just use HTTP WebSockets. This handles media (images, videos). • The core messaging system relies on XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol).  This handles the actual text and other messages. → The WhatsApp Server: A Distributed Masterpiece • WhatsApp employs a custom Ejabberd server. This runs on BEAM (Erlang’s virtual machine) and FreeBSD. • This server uses a powerful Mnesia database. It queues messages for efficient delivery. • Messages are only delivered once the recipient connects. This ensures that messages are received. • Once delivered and confirmed, messages are deleted from the database. Here’s the truth I learned as a 2× SIH Winner ● PPT Tips That Judges Actually Care About: • Keep slides clean, consistent & professional, clutter kills. • No long paragraphs, clarity > quantity. • Show prototype screenshots or demo video, execution > promises. • Highlight the What, Why & How of your solution. • Focus not just on tech, but also on impact. • Who benefits? How much? 💡 Common Mistakes That Kill Chances: ▪︎ Slides overloaded with theory (Judges don’t want a textbook). ▪︎ No prototype in early rounds (Even a rough demo beats theory). And here’s a bonus: ▪︎ Sometimes, even the best solution gets rejected because of a poor PPT. • Sometimes, a good PPT carries a simple idea through. Most colleges are still “waiting” on AI agents. Sreenidhi’s SDC SNIST community chose to lead. Honoured to be invited as a guest to run a hands-on workshop on n8n Automations at Sreenidhi College. This is the first college I’ve seen step up and initiate a dedicated agents + automations workshop for students—and the response was incredible. Students were deeply engaged, asked sharp questions, and jumped straight into building. “Understood the basics of n8n and automations quickly—and built a few workflows during the workshop.” What we focused on: - How agentic workflows map cleanly in n8n (from trigger to deployment) - Turning repetitive tasks into hands-free automations - Clean, minimal stacks students can maintain without big budgets I’m grateful to the SDC community for the initiative and to every student who showed up to learn, experiment, and ship. It was a wonderful experience interacting with the Sreenidhi students—you made it special.
