But FY25 told a different story: 📉 Revenue fell ~3% to ₹7,673 crore 📉 B2B arm declined ~7% to ₹2,227 crore 💸 Losses widened ~42%, crossing ₹2,000 crore What happened? 👉 The quick commerce race turned into a cash burn marathon. Competitors like Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart pushed the “10-minute delivery” promise, forcing BigBasket to chase speed while margins shrank. 👉 Rising operational costs, discounts, and logistics pressures made profitability a distant dream. 💡 The lesson: Growth without strong unit economics is like filling water in a leaking bucket. You may run faster, but the losses will run faster too. #FoodEntrepreneur Renowned Chef Manish Mehrotra has announced the launch of Manish Mehrotra Culinary Arts (MMCA), a new platform aimed at shaping the future of Indian cuisine. Co-founded with investor Amit Khanna and Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, MMCA will focus on creating immersive dining experiences, mentoring new chefs, and preserving India’s culinary heritage. The platform's first venture will be a new Indian restaurant in New Delhi, set to open in late 2025. It will focus on "soulful flavors, seasonal ingredients, and restrained design." In early 2026, MMCA will also introduce a catering service. The new company is designed to be a home for Chef Mehrotra's creative ideas, moving beyond the format of a single restaurant.
