Reflecting on a year with Adani Logistics—and two decades in containerized logistics—I've seen just how dynamic and challenging this industry is. It's easy to focus on our own priorities, but real progress comes through collaboration and adapting together. Recently, PWC and FICCI released a comprehensive report on India's container rail sector—a timely read as the industry stands on the cusp of transformation. Despite growth, rail handles only 5% of container freight today, highlighting huge untapped potential. Key challenges: speed and cost compared to road, pricing complexities, and infrastructure gaps. But there's real opportunity: with dedicated freight corridors, smarter pricing, and targeted reforms, achieving a 40% rail modal share by 2040 is possible.
