CAM advised HDB Financial Services on India law, with Mankad leading the team. Akash Joshi as well as Raksha Raina, Urmil Shah, Nayanika Gupta, Gaurav Lalwani, Janhavi Deshmukh and Yashi Gulecha assisted. Trilegal counselled HDFC Bank, advising the promoter and selling shareholder. Sambhav Ranka, Rowena De Sousa, and Anita Jain, former partners at IC Universal Legal, have launched Aequitas Law Partners (ALP), a full-service law firm in Mumbai targeting India's evolving corporate legal landscape. The three founding partners bringing combined expertise spanning M&A, private equity, venture capital, investment funds and regulatory advisory. While Ranka was a senior partner at IC Universal Legal, De Sousa and Jain were partners. "We haven't just launched any other law firm. We have launched a movement," said Ranka. ALP positions itself as offering strategic partnership beyond traditional legal services, with emphasis on artificial intelligence integration and faster turnarounds. "Clients are looking for more than lawyers in today's time. They want strategic partners who understand their vision, anticipate their risks and help them lead with confidence," commented De Sousa. "With our deep expertise in investment funds, asset management and regulatory practice, we work cohesively with regulators and market players in navigating India's evolving regulatory landscape," added Jain.
