𝗔 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲. I’ve had the privilege of leading teams across diverse industries, Consumer Durables, Home Appliances, Telecom, DTH and now Renewable Energy. One lesson has been consistent, the success of a meeting is never about the PowerPoint. It is about the power of collective energy in the room. In today’s global context, professionals are facing meeting fatigue. Hybrid work, endless Zoom calls, and misaligned agendas have drained meetings of their true purpose. But when used well, a meeting can still be the most powerful leadership tool for alignment, trust, and momentum. What energises a team meeting? For me, four practices stand out, tested not in theory but in boardrooms and on the ground:- 𝟭. 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. Professionals across the world resonate more when they know why the discussion matters. When purpose is clear, even a difficult agenda feels energising. 𝟮. 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. A title should not determine who gets heard. I’ve seen groundbreaking insights emerge when a field engineer or junior analyst is invited to speak alongside leadership. Inclusion fuels energy. 𝟯. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. Across cultures, whether in India or abroad, I’ve seen one universal truth, acknowledgment motivates more than analysis. Small wins celebrated in meetings create disproportionate energy. 𝟰. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲. An energised meeting does not end with “𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀”, it ends with commitments. Professionals leave the room knowing not just what was discussed, but what must be delivered. The world of work is noisy. Professionals everywhere are seeking clarity, meaning, and recognition. That’s why energising a meeting is not a “𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹”, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. When leaders respect people’s time, align them with purpose, and recognise their contribution, the meeting room, whether in New York, London,Gurugram or Bangalore becomes more than a room. It becomes a launchpad for performance. Ultimately, the way we run meetings reflects the way we run organisations. airtel Business has secured a multi-year contract from the Indian Railways Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) to design, build, and operate a comprehensive cybersecurity protection ecosystem for Indian Railways. The initiative will establish a greenfield, multi-layered defence framework to secure the vast IT backbone of one of the world’s largest railway networks, ensuring uninterrupted and safe digital operations across its services. The project will include Make In India cybersecurity technologies, creating a sovereign, compliant, and AI-embedded security ecosystem to protect critical infrastructure. With over 13,000 trains, 20 million daily commuters, and 1.5 billion tonnes of freight transported annually, securing Indian Railways’ digital ecosystem has become paramount. “At Airtel Business, we understand that in today's times of escalating cyber risks that threaten operational continuity, data integrity and passenger safety, advanced defence mechanisms play a critical role,” said Sharat Sinha, CEO and Director of Airtel Business. He added that the new security stack will enhance efficiency in ticketing, data management, and protect millions of daily digital interactions from evolving cyber threats. Dilip Kumar, EDIP - Railway Board, underscored the importance of cybersecurity amid the growing dependence on digital infrastructure. “Cyber security is of the utmost importance,” he said, noting that the establishment of IRSOC will enable continuous monitoring of railway assets, early threat detection, and collaboration with National Cyber Security Agencies. He emphasized that the centralised operations centre will strengthen service reliability and protect passengers’ interests by ensuring seamless and secure railway operations.
