🚀 On September 22, 2025, at the #Avio SPTF test center in Sardinia, was carried out the third firing #test of the MR10 DMX2 LOX-Methane engine which will equip the #FD1 flight demonstrator of the PNRR STS program, the result of a Technical Assistance Agreement between the Italian Government and European Space Agency - ESA.   The test, which was particularly complex due to the systemic aspects to be verified, made it possible to simulate an extended version of what will be the FD1 suborbital mission. The test consisted of an initial engine ignition, during which various operating points were successfully verified, followed by the achievement - under steady-state conditions - of the maximum pressure in the combustion chamber and the relative thrust on ground necessary to carry out the mission.   Immediately after the first ignition, a re-ignition was performed at lower pressure and thrust levels, as required by the mission strategy. During the test, for the first time, was verified the engine system's ability to deflect the thrust vector following profiles specifically defined for the purposes of the test.   🎯 The result of this test marks a fundamental step towards the #success of the PNRR STS program, which will now continue with the integration and testing phase of the FD1 demonstrator in Colleferro, in preparation for the stage test scheduled for early next year.   #space #spaceiscloser #MR10
