Goodbyes are never easy, but this one made us smile ✨ 👩🎓 At Ecosmic we regularly welcome interns who are passionate about space safety and innovation. Last month, we said goodbye to Olivier, who just completed his six-month internship programme with us at Ecosmic. 👋 Before leaving, Olivier shared a few words about his journey here. We felt that these words of kindness deserved being shared: “My internship at Ecosmic has been an extremely valuable and rewarding experience. I dove in with curiosity and left having learned far more than I expected. The experience absolutely exceeded my expectations and left me with a drive to continue contributing to the space sector. I first came across Ecosmic while working part-time at the Aerospace Innovation Hub in Delft, where I attended a pitch by Ecosmic. This led me to submit an open application, and six months later, I found myself working in one of the most beautiful hidden historical palaces in Turin, surrounded by a brilliant and warm team. The culture at Ecosmic is built on mutual respect, autonomy, and ambition. It’s a rare blend of relaxed and compassionate energy with high expectations that challenge you to perform at your best. ANT61 🤝 Ecosmic We’re thrilled to announce that during IAC 2025 Sydney, Ecosmic and ANT61 signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen our collaboration in making space safer and more sustainable. ANT61 has developed the Beacon, a low-latency communications payload keeping satellites connected 24/7, increasing resilience and enabling rapid recovery when anomalies occur. Ecosmic's mission is keeping satellites secure from any incoming threat. Reliable connectivity plays a crucial role in achieving that. That's why this collaboration is a natural fit: while we work to keep their host satellites SAFE, ANT61 ensures they remain connected. We were honored to share this special moment with representatives from both countries, including the General Manager of the Australian Space Agency Christopher Hewett, the Head of Technology Developments and Space Design Office of Agenzia Spaziale Italiana Marco Di Clemente, the Trade & Investment Commissioner of New South Wales David Lawson (GAICD), and the Scientific Attaché to the Embassy of Italy in Australia Marco Lazzarino. The work ahead is truly exciting. We're grateful for ANT61's team, especially Mikhail Asavkin and Chelsea Yu, for making this a reality. Looking forward for what's to come!

Ecosmic demonstrates new capabilities at the SDA TAP Lab Demo Day 🚀 As a part of Cohort 7 of the US Space Force’s SDA Tap Lab Apollo Accelerator, our CEO Benedetta Cattani presented our work on detection and characterisation of separation events to Space Force Guardians and other space entrepreneurs 💡 When we talk about objects splitting up in orbit, your mind might go straight to space debris. In the increasingly contested space domain, however, a new threat has been brewing up: adversary satellites have been seen approaching US and Allied assets before releasing smaller payloads, which can then launch destructive projectiles. The stakes are clear: the space infrastructure sustaining national security and the world’s economy risks being taken out from orbit with little to no notice. To tackle this vulnerability, Ecosmic’s team delivered a state-of-the-art software capable of detecting and characterising separation events up to 3 days earlier than public services. The software alerts decision-makers when a new separation occurs, distinguishing between the intentional release of a sub-payload, the shedding of old components, and accidental detonations. This gives decision-makers the intelligence and advance warning they need to protect and react. Space Domain Awareness is clarity that secures. It is crucial for mission success, but its benefits go much beyond warfighters. By lifting the fog in Earth’s orbit, Ecosmic makes space safer for all. 🌎 Initiatives like the SDA Tap Lab advance US and Allied capabilities while fostering the commercial ecosystem.
