    "Collaboration and problem-solving are my favorite parts of the job!" Francesco Bongi, Sales Manager at Lidl in Germany, has been part of #teamlidl for 5 years, always in sales management. Originally from Rome, he managed several stores at Lidl Italia before moving to Magdeburg as part of the Lidl International Job Rotation Program. ❤️💙💛 After six months in his new role overseeing four stores, Francesco feels well-integrated into the culture and daily routine. He enjoys collaborating with colleagues, tackling challenges together, and ensuring strong store performance through KPI monitoring and operational standards. 🤝 Before starting in Magdeburg, Francesco spent 3 months attending a German language course supported by Lidl. "It was a great time to meet #teamlidl from different countries and explore Germany. I’m impressed by how clean and well-organized the cities are, and I admire the work ethic and kindness of German people." 🇩🇪 His lighthearted advice for anyone coming to Germany on a job rotation?     A new store, a new school, and ancient history for the community in Siracusa 🇮🇹 Lidl Italia has just opened a new store at Via Grottasanta 339, the third in Siracusa, combining modern retail with a strong commitment to the local community. What makes this store so special? 🏫 Urban regeneration & education – As part of the Mazzarona–Grottasanta redevelopment plan, the project includes a €1 million investment to build a new primary school with spaces for community activities. 🏛 Archaeological preservation – Greek-era latomia quarry remains are now visible inside and outside the store through a glass floor. 👥 17 new jobs created, adding to 23,000 employees nationwide. 🌱 Class A1 energy rating and a 207 kWp photovoltaic system for greater energy efficiency. "A major challenge has come to an end: building a store while preserving the archaeological findings discovered during the excavation phase. The history of the site now intertwines with the present. Moreover, thanks to the natural slope of the land, the supermarket overlooks the lower-level parking area, and a large canopy – an extension of the store’s roof – provides shade for customers in this sunny city," say Rossella Li Destri and Roberta Sciuto, Development Manager and Technical Manager at Lidl Italia.     Lidl Denmark brings style and fun to Copenhagen Fashion Week! 👗 This year, Lidl Danmark celebrated its 20th anniversary with flair. At Copenhagen Fashion Week, the Lidl Capsule event brought a unique and playful twist to the runway, showcasing both vintage pieces and upcoming designs from the Lidl Collection. Guests were treated to an unforgettable evening, including 20 small dishes (a nod to the anniversary), all made with fresh ingredients from the Lidl assortment. ❤️💙💛 With a focus on a younger, social media-savvy audience, the event welcomed influencers with a combined 11 million followers, amplifying the brand’s reach and message across platforms. 🤳 "We’ve never been afraid to do things a little differently," says Mette Schacht Færch, Chief Customer Officer at Lidl Danmark. "This event was our humorous and self-deprecating take on fashion week, showing that Lidl is a brand with an edge. Celebrating 20 years in Denmark had to be done in a way that surprises and turns customers into fans - and this evening was just the beginning!"     "Working with people from different backgrounds helped me learn faster!" Thomas GHEERAERT, Senior Consultant Learning Solutions & Data INT at Lidl International, has been with #teamlidl for 5 years. Originally started his Lidl journey with Lidl France, Thomas worked as the Recruitment Manager, and then as a Training Manager for two years in a regional distribution center. Now, he is based in Germany since last April as part of the Lidl International Job Rotation Program. ❤️💙💛 "In just 5 years, I have held three positions at Lidl. Now I am taking on a new role in the headquarters to learn more about Lidl and the processes behind the learning management system I have been working on in my previous role!" In his new role, Thomas works in a department that provides tools related to training to the different countries of Lidl. "I am learning faster as I work with people from different backgrounds. Every conversation teaches me something new and I find it very exciting.     "It was my moment to take on a big change and learn something new." Ewa Burzyńska, Consultant Learning at Lidl International, has been part of #teamlidl since 2019. She began her Lidl career in e-Learning Competence Center at Lidl Polska, working on localization and quality control, and quickly rose to become the Group Leader, responsible for the e-Learning production. She led for the three years the content creation team and later also managed developers and graphic designers. ❤️💙💛 Two weeks ago, Ewa started a new chapter in Germany as part of the Lidl International Job Rotation Program, where she will spend the next 18 months. "I’ve worked across every area of the e-learning department in Poland, so it felt like the right moment to explore Lidl from an international perspective and take on a new challenge." Ewa shares that the transition was seamless thanks to the support from Lidl. "From arranging the move to finding an apartment and completing all local official formalities, everything was handled smoothly.     Our new #LidlExpats are ready to take off!   This October, 53 colleagues from 17 Lidl countries have started their Lidl International Job Rotation. ❤️💙💛 Over the next 12 to 24 months, they will live and work abroad, discover new cultures, build cross-border networks, and gain invaluable experience in departments such as Sales, HR, Central Functions & Administration.  Launched in 2016, this program invests in #teamlidl by strengthening international exchange, boosting knowledge transfer, and expanding skills. Participants not only grow professionally but also develop their language abilities through dedicated courses, gaining a broader perspective on global operations. 🌎 At Lidl, pushing beyond our comfort zones and continuously evolving is a core part of our culture. We’re excited to see this new round of the Lidl International Job Rotation kick off.     "Working internationally gives me fresh ideas and new perspectives!" Luca Collu, Senior Consultant in Sales Business Partnering at Lidl International, has been part of #teamlidl for 5 years. Originally from Milan, Italy, he started as a Sales Manager at Lidl Italia and is now embracing a new challenge in Germany, where he plans to stay for two years. 🌎 With years of experience in sales, Luca’s expertise is invaluable in his current role. At Lidl International, he collaborates closely with Lidl countries, connecting headquarters and local teams. “My background in sales helps me understand what happens on the ground. It’s fascinating to see how different countries approach the same topics in unique ways.” Luca is particularly excited about his upcoming visit to Lidl Ireland for training, where he’ll gain even more insights into international processes. 🇮🇪 Outside of work, Luca is enjoying the calm and greenery of Neckarsulm, Germany.     25 years of working together with local communities!🎈 Twenty-five years ago, Lidl Ireland opened its first stores nationwide. Since then, Lidl Ireland has been making a real difference – supporting local suppliers, creating jobs, and giving back to the communities it serves.   Key milestones over the years include: 👉 €997M economic contribution to Gross Domestic Product in 2024.   👉 10,240 jobs supported nationwide in 2024.   👉 70% growth in Irish produce procurement in last five years. 👉 More than €6M raised for local charities, with €1M pledged to Family Carers Ireland over next three years.   👉 €10M invested in supporting women in sport through sponsorship of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.      So, what’s behind these numbers?      It’s the trust Lidl Ireland has built with local communities, suppliers, and customers.
