📣 Announcement: ispace and OrbitAID Aerospace have signed an agreement for a strategic partnership aimed at advancing sustainable lunar exploration and establishing long-term lunar operations! OrbitAID—India’s first on-orbit refueling company—plans to demonstrate it’s Standardized Interface for Docking and Refueling Payload (SIDRP) by integrating into ispace’s lunar landers, facilitating seamless docking and refueling to extend lunar missions. By enabling lunar refueling, ispace and OrbitAID intend to facilitate deep-space exploration beyond Earth's orbit. The integration of OrbitAID’s SIDRP interface is expected to not only optimize refueling, recharging, and data transmission capabilities but also support ispace’s efforts to enhance the performance and reliability of its landers. 📣 Announcement: ispace will receive support from Toyota Motor Corporation for next-gen small-sized rover development! Through the agreement, ispace will receive technical evaluation and quality improvement support from Toyota for the conceptual design of its next-generation small-sized rover, currently under development for operation in future missions. Moving forward, ispace plans to transport its self-developed lunar lander and next-generation small-sized rover to the Moon starting with Mission 3, acquiring lunar surface data and other information through their operation. The data provided is planned to be obtained through ispace’s enhanced data services through its rover platform, which we expect that Toyota Motor Corporation could potentially use it in their space mobility development. We recently hosted a Series 3 lunar lander reveal at the JAXA Space Center in Tsukuba, Japan. Check out this explainer video featuring presentations by ispace CEO Takeshi Hakamada, CTO Ryo Ujiie and special guest Wataru Takahama, Space Industry Division Director at METI. https://lnkd.in/gWSbANXr The Series 3 lunar lander successfully completed environmental testing that had been ongoing since April. The testing was designed to assess the lunar lander’s ability to withstand the harsh conditions of space. As shown in the video, this step is a crucial part of the development plan and we will use the test data and results for the next phases including the structural model and flight model design. This lunar lander is built for commercial payload transportation to the Moon, and each milestone achievement brings us closer to the launch of Mission 4. Recently, we announced two significant payloads that are scheduled to be transported to the Moon’s orbit and surface on the Series 3 lander’s debut mission. As part of a team selected for funding by Japan’s Space Strategy Fund, ispace will be primarily responsible for the transportation and deployment of a lunar exploration satellite, equipped with a terahertz wave sensor system, capable of acquiring data to estimate the distribution of water and ice on the Moon. The team includes many collaborating organizations and is led by Institute of Science Tokyo. Additionally, ispace was selected by Taiwan’s space agency TASA and is expected to transport the “Vector Magnetometer and Ultraviolet Telescope” to the Moon. ispace has collaborated in the past with Taiwanese academia and continues to promote efforts in Taiwan’s industry, government, and academia. We will keep you updated during the coming months on the progress of Mission 4 and the Series 3 lander as it continues through assembly, integration and testing. ispace is developing the Series 3 lunar lander through a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.

🚀 Series 3 Structural Thermal Model Has Completed Thermal Vacuum Testing! Check out this video of the Series 3 Lunar Lander Structural Thermal Model being removed from the testing chamber. Our Series 3 lunar lander has successfully completed environmental testing, conducted at JAXA's Tsukuba Space facility. The testing ongoing since April was designed to assess the landers ability to withstand the harsh conditions of space. After verifications including thermal vacuum, vibration, and acoustic tests, the lander has achieved a crucial milestone. As part of our development plan, we will use the test data and results for the next phases including the structural model and flight model design. The Series 3 lander, built for commercial payload transportation to the Moon, is steadily progressing towards Mission 4! 🌕 ispace is developing of the Series 3 Lunar Lander through a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry.

📣 Announcement: ispace and Magna Petra Corp. sign Payload Service Agreement to deliver NASA’s MSOLO instrument to the Moon Under the agreement, ispace-EUROPE will integrate a 🚀NASA-developed Mass Spectrometer Observing Lunar Operations (MSOLO) instrument into its upcoming Mission 3 lunar micro-rover platform as part of Magna Petra Corp’s Helium Availability of Lunar Origin (HALO) reconnaissance mission. The ispace-EUROPE micro-rover platform is being designed and manufactured in Luxembourg. 🌕 🌙MSOLO is a flight-proven, compact mass spectrometer originally developed at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to measure volatiles, including rare isotopes such as helium-3, thought to be trapped in the Moon’s regolith.
