#Sarawak is looking to bolster its position as a leader in green energy. For this to become reality, the focus now is to scale relevant technologies and strengthen cross-sector partnerships, underpinned strong policy support. 🤝 At the MUFG N0W conference held in Kuching earlier this year, our Head of Branch in #Malaysia Masato Sakamoto joined a panel with Kazuyuki Miyata of Sumitomo Corporation and Takahiro Misumi of ENEOS Xplora Malaysia Limited to discuss the factors driving Sarawak’s green ambitions. Mr. Sakamoto spoke about how deploying #naturalgas is key to #decarbonizing #electricity generation. He cited GTCC as a highly effective transition option to pursue both energy security and decarbonization goals as shown in our collaboration with Petroleum Sarawak Berhad to develop a #hydrogen-ready 500MW CCGT power plant. Mitsubishi Power has received an order to supply a 100-MW class gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plant to Chinese steelmaker Jiangsu Lihuai Steel. In China’s #SteelIndustry, in line with the trend toward energy conservation and decarbonization, demand is growing for high-efficiency equipment. As the first order of our new M100S model, this blast furnace gas (BFG) turbine, with its extensive efficiency and flexibility, can offer an innovative alternative to outdated boiler, turbine, generator (BTG) facilities widely used in China. We aim to be a pioneer in this field by developing power plant solutions that contribute to efficient energy usage and reduce environmental impacts. #Outage execution is a foundational pillar of Mitsubishi Power’s operational excellence philosophy. Whether outages are planned or unexpected, a key aspect of outages is the #HumanElement. Our commitment to excellence led to the implementation of the operating philosophy Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), which bridges the gap between how work is planned and how it is actually performed. HOP Strategy and Integration Manager Jonathan Presby introduces HOP and its impact on outage planning and execution👇 https://lnkd.in/gA7TiRNd

Germany has raised the bar for industrial #decarbonisation following the EU approval of its smart and strategic €5bn plan to support cleaner processes through Carbon Contracts for Difference—and we are here for it. The move provides real financial certainty for companies willing to take bold steps, especially in sectors like #steel, #cement, and #chemicals, where emissions are hard to abate. At Mitsubishi Power, we are already aligned with this direction. Our #hydrogen-ready gas turbines and #decarbonisation solutions are built to support exactly this kind of transition. In fact, we are already working with partners across Europe on #hydrogen co-firing projects and scalable #carboncapture systems. We look forward to supporting industries in navigating this shift with proven technologies, strategic insight, and a commitment to long-term #sustainability. #carboncontractsfordifference #cleanenergy #energytransition #futureofenergy #netzero #hydrogen #carboncapture
