MUFG Gives Back is the Group’s flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative that rallies colleagues around the world to drive and participate in activities that positively impact our local communities. In FY2024, over 4,000 MUFG colleagues worldwide participated in such activities, driving social and environmental progress — a key pillar of our Medium-term Business Plan. Here are some highlights: Americas: Brazil: MUFG colleagues, children, and representatives from Santa Casa de Diadema created a vertical garden and held a career roundtable for children of the institution. Mexico: Painted a mural and built a garden at Institución Alegrias, Casa Hogar IAP, a shelter for girls and young women. United States: Held a virtual learning session and tree care activity with Tree People to inspire people to take personal responsibility for the environment. Asia Pacific (APAC): China: Donated items from books to toys for charity bazaars where proceeds were channeled to support environmental and social causes. Hong Kong: Donated to Music Children Foundation to provide 65 children from less privileged situations an opportunity to learn music. Malaysia: Took part in mangrove tree replanting initiatives to protect coastlines from natural elements and preserve biodiversity. Singapore: Hosted a Ramadan event to encourage and uplift Muslim seniors and low-income families through breaking fast (Iftar) and various games. Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA): Germany: Sold UNICEF Christmas cards, delivered gifts, funded by colleagues, to children with disabilities, and organized a festive celebration for 120 children and parents from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Netherlands: Did a street clean-up, equipped children with digital skills, and brought warmth to local elderly through an annual charity fair. United Kingdom: Donated Japanese-style shoeboxes of essentials to elderly and lonely residents, crafted festive cards for local families in need, and held a charity concert. Japan: Tokyo: Collaborated with the administrative agency and a specified non-profit organization to create and update a "Barrier-Free Map," ensuring the area is accessible for people with disabilities. Osaka: Held a festival-style experiential event — in collaboration with a social welfare organization managing multiple children's cafeterias — aimed to address the experiential gap for children from impoverished families. Together, we are making a positive impact on our communities and the environment, in line with our purpose to be, “Committed to empowering a brighter future.” #MUFG #MUFGGivesBack #CSR #Banking

Last week, Christopher Marks, MUFG EMEA’s Head of Growth Markets, Innovative Finance & Portfolio Solutions, participated in a Private Sector Roundtable on how investing in water security strengthens business resilience. The roundtable was convened by @Tim Wainwright, CEO of WaterAid UK, and co-chaired by Diageo and the Investor Leadership Network. WaterAid is an important global organisation - and origination partner of MUFG’s Blended Finance desk - focused on bringing water, sanitation and hygiene to everyone, everywhere as well as working on the connection between this and climate change. The conversation explored case studies where private sector corporate and finance partners are engaged in solving the water-climate crisis, exploring how water investments are relevant across a variety of asset classes as a way to manage risks, build opportunities, and generate returns. In the evening, Christopher Marks also attended WaterAid’s Water and Climate reception at Buckingham Palace where he met King Charles III. Reflecting on the event, Christopher Marks, said: ”MUFG is using our expertise in blended finance, the bringing together of public and private financing, to support adaptation projects which address water requirements in developing countries. We believe companies and financial institutions will have a critical role to play a role in supporting water security, through direct investment in building resilient operations and supply chains.” MUFG EMEA’s ESG disclaimers can be found here: https://bit.ly/4bpcsSQ Photo credit: ©Ian Jones 2025

At MUFG, our purpose is to be, “Committed to Empowering a Brighter Future.” We live out this purpose through the value we offer to our clients and partners, and by proactively addressing numerous societal challenges with our social contribution endeavours. Guided by this principle, we set aside a portion of our net operating profits as the MUFG Social Contribution Budget to address social issues in five areas where our contributions through financial services may be limited. These areas are Development of the Next Generation and Support for Children, Environmental Conservation, Financial and Economic Education, Preservation and Succession of Culture, and Disaster Relief. We are proud to have committed JPY143 million in FY24 and have since supported 40 projects across 13 cities in Asia Pacific. Swipe to learn more. #MUFG #MUFGGivesBack #CSR #APAC

Recently, MUFG’s Americas Risk Management (ARM) team hosted university students from top universities to learn more about career opportunities at the firm as well as its Summer Analyst Program. During the lunchtime breakout sessions, MUFG colleagues from various departments including the Securities business, Corporate Strategy, HR, and key risk functions provided first-hand perspectives on their career paths and the dynamic nature of risk management at a financial institution. Lunch and learns like the one we recently hosted give students a unique perspective of life at our company and we’re happy to share our story. There’s growing interest among college students to participate in MUFG’s ARM Leadership Development Program. In 2023, the group received more than 500 applications and last year, more than 1,000 students applied for the program. This year, we look forward to welcoming a new summer cohort and helping to develop the next generation of risk managers.
