    🌏 Day 1 at Global Conference 2025: Insights from Aflac and Suntory on the Future of DX and Collaboration We were honored to host speakers from our valued partners, Aflac Life Insurance Japan Ltd. and Suntory Holdings Limited, in our “External Views” session. Mr. Tohru Futami, Director, Executive Vice President, Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), and Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) of Aflac Life Insurance Japan Ltd., shared Aflac’s approach to DX and AI, as well as their vision for “AI Co-creation.” He introduced initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experience through digital transformation, and mentioned exploratory uses of generative AI and digital tools for operational support.    Mr. Hiroaki Kawamura, Japan CIO, Information Technology Department, Digital Transformation Division of Suntory Holdings Limited, shared their digital strategy, including efforts in product-service innovation and manufacturing DX. He discussed challenges Suntory faces such as climate change, labor shortages, and the need to modernize legacy systems. He emphasized the important role of building a data-driven value chain guided by QCDE principles (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environment).     Both leaders expressed strong expectations for continued collaboration and innovation with NTT DATA as we work together to co-create societal value.     🌐 NTT DATA Global Conference 2025✨   NTT DATA Global Conference 2025 took place with powerful messages from our top leaders.   Akira Shimada, CEO of NTT Group, reflected on our 160-year journey — from Japan’s first telegraph line in 1867 to today’s global innovation powerhouse. He also spoke about the potential of IOWN technology and the acceleration of AI, emphasizing the pivotal role of NTT DATA Group in driving growth through system integration and data-centric businesses.   Yutaka Sasaki, CEO of NTT DATA Group, shared the strategic direction for achieving quality growth—emphasizing the importance of AI, innovation, and global collaboration. This direction is grounded in our renewed mission: “Accelerate client success and positively impact society through responsible innovation.” He outlined how NTT DATA aims to expand and accelerate this growth by deepening collaboration within the NTT Group, leveraging group-wide resources, and investing strategically in priority areas.     India’s popular Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is on track to be introduced in Japan, enabling Indian tourists to make seamless digital payments during their visits. To help bring this initiative to life, NTT DATA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NPCI International Payments Limited. https://bit.ly/47dNCnS UPI allows secure and instant transfers between bank accounts through mobile payment apps. Since 2016, UPI has revolutionized digital payments in India, recording over 20 billion monthly transactions by August 2025, with a total value of $280 billion. “This collaboration marks an important milestone as we expand payment choices for inbound travelers from India,” said Masanori Kurihara, Head of Payments Services Sector, NTT DATA. By introducing UPI acceptance in Japan, shopping and payments will become more convenient for Indian tourists, while Japanese merchants gain new business opportunities. With Indian tourism to Japan rising, this initiative supports Japan’s cashless strategy and diversifies payment options for merchants.
