At Terumo, our suppliers are essential partners in delivering safe and effective #healthcare. Our Supplier Guidelines set clear expectations to help us move together with integrity and reliability. The guidelines are organized into seven chapters: ・Quality, Safety: Robust quality systems, fast action on nonconformance, and prior notice of changes. ・Stable Supply: Plan for continuity and communicate disruptions promptly. ・Promotion of Compliance: Follow laws and ethics, prevent bribery and corruption, and enable safe reporting. ・Fair Dealings: Compete fairly, provide accurate information, and respect intellectual property. ・Consideration for Human Rights for Labor: No forced or child labor; fair conditions, no-discrimination, and safe workplaces. ・Consideration for Environment: Comply with regulations, manage chemicals responsibly, and reduce emissions, water use, and waste. ・Management Systems: Commit resources, manage risks, train teams, keep accurate records, improve continually, and protect confidential information. Contracts and POs are governed by agreed terms and conditions. Suppliers are also expected to meet these guidelines across their operations and supply chains. Together, we strengthen #quality, #sustainability, and #trust for patients worldwide.

On August 19, Terumo welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Government of #Ethiopia to our Tokyo office ahead of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9). The delegation was led by H.E. Mr. Melaku Alebel, Minister of Trade and Industry, and included senior representatives from the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, as well as H.E. Mr. Daba Debele Hunde, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Japan. From Terumo, Leadership Team and representatives from @Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies joined the discussions. The meeting focused on a pressing #healthcare challenge in Ethiopia, the shortage of Blood Solutions Products. We exchanged views on how Terumo’s technologies, such as our automated whole blood processing system, could contribute to addressing these issues in a sustainable way. This high-level dialogue reflects our shared commitment to exploring future #collaborations with Ethiopia in an aim to support and strengthen healthcare systems in #Africa.

Last month, alongside our participation in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), Terumo had the privilege of meeting twice with H.E. Mr. Moi Lemoshira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the #Republic of Kenya.   Our first meeting with H.E. Mr. Lemoshira at the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Japan was an opportunity to share updates on the planned MOU at TICAD, and to discuss how Terumo can contribute to tackling sickle cell disease, a major #health challenge in Kenya.   Later, we were delighted to welcome His Excellency and Mr. David Teddy Yaa (Second Secretary) to Terumo Medical Pranex. This visit allowed us to exchange ideas on future collaboration, from addressing the shortage of Global Blood Solutions Products to advancing #education and #training for healthcare professionals in Kenya.   These discussions remind us of the vital role partnerships play in shaping better healthcare. We are committed to continue working together to create meaningful impact in Kenya and beyond.

On September 17th in Tokyo, #Terumo held the company event “Terumo Patient’s Day 2025” to coincide with Terumo’s founding anniversary.
