Last month, alongside our participation in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), Terumo had the privilege of meeting twice with H.E. Mr. Moi Lemoshira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the #Republic of Kenya. Our first meeting with H.E. Mr. Lemoshira at the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Japan was an opportunity to share updates on the planned MOU at TICAD, and to discuss how Terumo can contribute to tackling sickle cell disease, a major #health challenge in Kenya. Later, we were delighted to welcome His Excellency and Mr. David Teddy Yaa (Second Secretary) to Terumo Medical Pranex. This visit allowed us to exchange ideas on future collaboration, from addressing the shortage of Global Blood Solutions Products to advancing #education and #training for healthcare professionals in Kenya. These discussions remind us of the vital role partnerships play in shaping better healthcare. We are committed to continue working together to create meaningful impact in Kenya and beyond.

Inspiring Future Donors With Science, Fun, and Education About Giving Blood We recently opened the doors of our Terumo Medical Pranex facility in Kanagawa, Japan, for a very special summer event: “Let’s Learn About Blood and Blood Donation!” Back for its second year after last summer’s enthusiastic response, this year’s program welcomed 45 children of Terumo associates and their families: a total of 90 participants, to be exact, for a day of learning fueled with fun! In June 2024, Terumo signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with the Japanese Red Cross Society. Together, we are a stronger force dedicated to spreading awareness about blood donation through various initiatives — this event being one of our recent highlights. Our curious young participants and future donors listened closely as they learned about the importance of blood. They also enjoyed hands-on activities to explore how donated blood is transformed into lifesaving blood products and used in hospitals to treat patients. As Japan faces the challenges of a declining birthrate and aging population, inspiring younger generations to become donors has never been more important. Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is proud to play a role in building that early awareness. This event was a powerful reminder that every life saved begins with a willing donor. And the future of our blood supply depends on those we inspire today. With the Japanese Red Cross Society, we’ll keep turning learning into action. #BetterTogether #HealthcareEducation #UnlockingPotential #TerumoBCT
