We have advised Jeju Air, South Korea’s largest low-cost carrier, on its insurance-backed financing for two new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, supported by a credit insurance policy from Itasca MGA and senior debt from MUFG.   We are pleased to have supported the airline with its first transaction using this structure and to be part of Jeju Air’s ongoing fleet growth.   The Walkers team, led by Finance partner Kristen Kwok and supported by senior counsel Gareth Lond, advised on all Cayman Islands law aspects of the transaction.   The Walkers Professional Services team provided fiduciary services led by Gennie Bigord with support from Linval Stewart FCCA and Jordan Hebert. James Grandolfo, partner at Milbank and managing partner of Milbank (Hong Kong), co-chaired the 9th edition of Practising Law Institute's Annual Institute on Corporate & Securities Law in Asia on September 25-26. James, who has acted as co-chair since the inception of the institute, also moderated a session titled "US Regulatory Developments Impacting Asia,” which covered various regulatory developments from the SEC.   Davide Mencacci, head of Milbank's Leveraged Finance practice in Asia, also moderated a session titled "Financing Mergers & Acquisitions in Asia."
