Last Thursday, 10 community builders came together to break bread and build something more. We hosted the first edition of Plates & Partnerships, a curated potluck meetup for community managers, engagement leads, and ecosystem enablers across Nairobi. The theme? Breaking Bread, #BuildingCollaborations. The goal? To create space for the people who hold space for others—those leading innovation hubs, creative collectives, startup programs, and impact networks to connect intentionally, exchange tools, and co-create possibilities. Held at Ikigai Nairobi, Peponi Road, the morning flowed through opening circles, honest conversations, a shared potluck brunch, and a rapid-fire collab corner that sparked several real-time ideas for joint programming, shared toolkits, and peer learning. What stood out most: - The hunger for cross-community collaboration - The joy of slowing down and being in conversation with peers - The sense that we need more of this kind of gathering spacious, intentional, and rooted in mutual support To everyone who brought food, stories, laughter, and fresh ideas to the table, thank you.
