  • When leaders build with their own hands, they build more than houses. 🏡 We’re inspired by Hilti Thailand’s Executive Management Team, who traveled to the Philippines to join Base Bahay Foundation, Inc. in creating safe homes for families in need. This is what Engaged Beyond Business means—turning commitment into action, tools into hope. Thank you for showing what’s possible when we work together. 🎶 What happens when children are truly seen, heard, and given the space to grow? Music is more than performance. It’s a pathway to connection, confidence, and lifelong skills. In a world where children often face pressure to fit in, musical spaces give them the freedom to create something positive together. Superar provides free, inclusive, and community-driven cultural education to children from all backgrounds. And the results go far beyond the stage. Because when children are empowered through creativity—not competition—they don’t just learn music. They learn to thrive. #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

Children grow up in all kinds of realities — shaped by migration, poverty, or instability. Each story is different, but many carry a common thread: resilience. In our work, we’ve seen how music can offer more than just melody. It creates structure, confidence, and connection. It gives young people space to grow, to be seen, and to begin shaping their own futures — no matter where they start from. Sinfonía por el Perú #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

For children navigating unstable circumstances, the constant rhythm and harmony offered by music can be life-changing. El Sistema Greece provides free, structured education that acts as an anchor—a reliable, safe space when everything else is uncertain. The program isn't just about musical progress; the focus is on stability and integration, and building the simple things that matter most: routine, confidence, and a strong sense of community. Hearing from one of the teachers shows the vital role dedicated educators play in providing that safe harbor every single day. #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

In El Agustino, one of Lima’s most densely populated districts, life isn’t always easy — but it’s full of resilience. Like many mothers in the area, Agustina worked hard to give her children what she never had. When she discovered Sinfonía por el Perú, a free music education program, she saw an opportunity — not just for music lessons, but for something deeper. With limited resources but unwavering belief, she enrolled her son Jeremías. At first, he was shy and kept close to the family. But she watched as music quietly transformed him — how the violin became his voice, how rehearsals turned into stepping stones of confidence. Agustina made sure he never missed a single class. The whole family adjusted, neighbors noticed, and soon his younger brother joined too. What began as a mother’s hope became a shared rhythm — of support, dedication, and pride. Today, she dreams of seeing Jeremías travel the world with his music. Because for her, this isn’t just about notes on a page — it’s about what happens when you believe in your child, and give that belief a chance to grow. #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

Kelvin was only a child when Venezuela’s economic crisis forced his family to flee. For years they moved from place to place, until they eventually settled in one of Lima’s most underserved districts. Life remained tough in the dusty streets with unstable work and long days filled with various responsibilities. Every day, Kelvin wakes before dawn to deliver newspapers, attends school, plays the trumpet in a mariachi band, and studies classical music. A dense schedule, but he doesn’t complain. Music, which began as a way to reconnect with his childhood joy now became a lifeline; offering him structure, confidence, and community. Music changed everything. Today, Kelvin dreams of building not only his future with music, but a way to inspire others to believe in theirs. Sinfonía por el Perú #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

Meet Issías Alonzo Balvín — the teacher transforming lives through music. Raised in the Andes, music was part of daily life — but everything changed when he joined Sinfonía por el Perú. In Rímac, a district with limited opportunities, he built a space where children could find confidence, community, and their own voice. Today, he teaches, conducts, and creates performances that lift his students from the margins to the spotlight — guiding them to believe in themselves through every note. For Issías, it’s not about perfection. It’s about showing every child they matter. #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

Meet Heidy Sánchez — a psychologist shaped by the violin. Heidy grew up in Pueblo Libre, a district of Lima, where much of her teenage life revolved around music. At 16, she was preparing for an audition at Sinfonía por el Perú, where she had been studying violin. She didn’t pass the audition. But that moment became a turning point. She began to understand that emotional control, like any skill, could be trained. That she could face failure with reflection rather than fear. And that realization stayed with her — shaping her character, her self-esteem, and her sense of direction. Driven by an interest in emotions and human behavior, Heidy went on to study psychology. Today, she works in market research while continuing to teach music to children, both at an academy and from home. She also plays percussion in a local batucada, exploring music in a freer, more spontaneous way. Because music never stopped being a part of her life. It simply changed shape. The lessons she learned through music — structure, resilience, empathy — continue to echo, both in her personal path and in the lives of the children she now teaches. #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

Meet Bryan Godoy Espinoza — an accountant who sang in Switzerland. Bryan grew up in Rimac, a district rich in culture but weighed down by social challenges. He grew up singing traditional waltzes before joining a digital orchestra led by his family, and eventually, the youth choir at Sinfonía por el Perú. There, he learned more than singing well. He learned about punctuality, teamwork, and empathy — how to listen, adapt, and lead. The skills he acquired in the choir also helped him reorganize his life and his profession as an accountant. In 2019, when he was 17, he was selected to sing with other members of the youth choir at a festival in Switzerland - an experience he describes as a cultural and emotional shock. Sharing the stage with teenagers from Europe and singing in German in font of demanding audiences, the world opened up to Bryan. When he returned from his international tour, something had shifted. Neighbors knocked on his door to ask how their kids could join the program. Music had sparked a quiet change in his community, and Bryan became part of that story. Today, he’s building his professional future as an accountant. But the stage still calls — and he has no plans to stop singing. #hiltifoundationmusicforsocialchange

What if music could do more than entertain? 🎻 🏫 What if it could break down barriers, build life skills, and open new doors? Music for Social Change is about just that — using free, structured music education to empower young people. It’s not about turning everyone into a professional musician. But rather about what happens when young people create something meaningful together: they learn to listen, lead, trust, and grow.
