🎉 Day One Highlights – 4th CUUL Annual Conference 2025 🎉 The 4th CUUL Conference officially kicked off today at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala under the theme “Empowering Africa through Open Knowledge: Bridging Present Realities and Future Innovations.” The opening session featured warm welcome remarks from the Executive Chairman CUUL, Mr. Andrew Ojulong and an inspiring opening address by Dr. Norah Mulira, Director for ICT, Research and Innovation at NCHE, who represented the Chief Guest Prof. Mary Okwakol, ED NCHE. In her remarks, Dr. Mulira commended CUUL’s pivotal role in strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem in Uganda. The day also marked a special milestone as CUUL celebrated its 21st Anniversary with the launch of the CUUL Journal and a ceremonial cake cutting. 🎂 Delegates from across Africa and beyond participated in a dynamic programme featuring a thought-provoking keynote by Ms. Iryna Kuchma of EIFL, insightful paper presentations, and stimulating panel discussions exploring open knowledge, digital transformation, and the future of libraries. 💡 It’s been an inspiring start — fostering collaboration, innovation, and a renewed commitment to advancing open knowledge across the continent! #CUULConference2025 #OpenKnowledgeAfrica #DigitalTransformation #LibraryInnovation #CUUL21Years #EmpoweringAfrica
