Day 3 began with three parallel sessions on key themes shaping the future of inclusive insurance in Latin America: 💼 Session 1: Business cases for microinsurance across the value chain in Latin America Facilitator: Bert Opdebeeck (Microinsurance Master) Speakers: Carolina L. (Seguros TúPrimero), Raul Monroy (SBS Seguros Colombia S.A. ), Regina Silva (SERINSA) Key takeaways: 🔹 Finding partners who share the same purpose is essential to design insurance solutions for people new to such products. 🔹 Insurers must be flexible, allocate resources, and innovate with business models that respond to real needs. 🔹 Co-creation with clients helps close gaps, build trust, and improve adoption. 🔹 Strong partnerships among insurers, brokers, and MFIs enable simple, client-focused products with quick pay-outs. 🔹 Digital tools such as WhatsApp claims or parametric products improve accessibility and scalability. 🤝 Session 2: Building sustainable microinsurance partnerships Facilitator: Nataly Galan Perez (VisionFund International) Speakers: Théo DERVAUX (VisionFund International), Raúl Coka Aguirre (raúl coka barriga - Asesores de Seguros), EDSON LIMA DE SOUZA (SEGUROS DEL PICHINCHA) Key takeaways: 🔹 Microinsurance plays a vital role in promoting financial inclusion for women, farmers, and small entrepreneurs. 🔹 Sustainable programmes rely on balanced partnerships that deliver simple, transparent products with quick pay-outs. 🔹 Brokers and MFIs such as VisionFund stay close to clients, understand their needs, and help scale products effectively. 🔹 Simplified claims processes enhance engagement and trust. 🔹 Microinsurance must remain affordable and efficient, with minimal paperwork and strong customer support. 💊 Session 3: Inclusive health insurance – successes and failures in Latin America Lisa Morgan (The ILO's Social Finance Programme) highlighted the need for risk management integration & dedicated health funds. Wilson Peñafiel (Inmedical) stressed that efficient distribution, quality service, and regulatory adaptation are key to sustainability. Andrea Gómez García-Herreros (Seguros Bolivar S.A) showcased digital innovation that makes health cover accessible for informal workers.
